Let's Visit Holmfirth, England

Holmfirth is a village located in the Kirklees in West Yorkshire, England (between Manchester and Leeds). The village is also where the longest running sitcom Last of the Summer Wine was filmed from the 1970s until about 2010. I check out the downtown area as well as the area near the Last of the Summer Wine Exhibition. Later in the video I head over to Victoria Park which has a nice overlook of the village and then over to St. John the Evangelist Church in nearby Upperthong.

A European-rain-to-East-Coast-sunshine late-summer flight, with view of Yorkshire and Blackpool in northern England, before crossing the Atlantic to a myriad of lakes and rocks of Labrador's Canadian Shield, the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Gaspé Peninsula, the forest, highways, and cities of New Brunswick, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and upstate New York.

After crossing the upper Hudson River, descent commences over the Catskills for a near straight-in approach to runway 22L at EWR.

Last of the Summer Wine Country Aerial Film Holmfirth

Video shots around Holmfirth from 6.00am on a Sunday morning when completely deserted (except distance shots - when drone was over agricultural land - with farmer's permission) . Safety was never compromised with no overflying of people. Lightweight drone and experienced hobbyist pilot who has been flying much more difficult to fly non-GPS, non-stabilised Collective Pitch RC helicopters for the past ten years.

This video is for the pleasure of those who appreciate Holmfirth, the surrounding area and, of course, Last of the Summer Wine. It is produced purely because the pilot enjoys where we live, flying, photography, editing and music and not for any financial gain.

Safety was paramount at all times during the filming of this video; there were no people around during take off or landing or under or around any shots. Line of sight was maintained and the two street flights were conducted very early in the morning and when completely clear.

With some of the comments received on the initial upload of this video, it goes without saying, our filming days are over. However Facebook comments have been repeatedly asking for the video to be re-submitted, so here it is.

I hope you enjoy, because (we have since learned), with regulations as they are, it's unlikely it will ever be possible to film anything like this here again...

0:42 starts to take off from the small patch of land near our home.
A Young Man was knocked over close to my home.
As far as we know he is on the mend our hearts go out to his family it is a horrible thing to happen to anyone and being a young man it must have been very hard on the family This is why I did not film the person getting put in to the helicopter as if it was my child I would not want people filming them while there in distress so I really hope he is ok again as far as we know he is and we was told by the police when we asked about his well-being that he was ok.
The Pilot landed in an area that was only just big enough to land it was amazing too watch the skill of the pilot.
We have given money to the car ambulance in the past it is a very good service to have and can be the difference that extra speed to get some one to the right hospital to deal with what ever injury they have.
This is a short chip with some pictures and then the pilot taking off is was amazing to watch.
