The Hellenic Museum in Melbourne

Australia's Hellenic Museum was inaugurated in April 2007.
Occupying one of the country's landmark buildings, the Museum has taken on an identity of its own in the former Royal Mint building. Since its inception, the Hellenic Museum has continued to build and maintain its collections. Today, hundreds of objects spanning over 8,000 years of Hellenic history are on view at any given time in the Museum's galleries.
In 2013, the Hellenic Museum entered into a landmark 10-year agreement with the Benaki Museum, Athens. In 2014, the Hellenic Museum opened the exhibition 'Gods, Myths and Mortals', a snapshot of Hellenic-civilisation from the Neolithic period to mid-19th century CE.
Discover the Hellenic world from the earliest pre-history, to the Classical and Hellenistic years; from the Roman era, to the end of the Byzantine period; and from the centuries of foreign rule, up to the revolutionary revival of 1821, and the founding of the Modern Greek state.

2 Migrant Children ABC Documentary 1970's ( Australian / Greek Family)
The ABC did a documentary on our family in the early 1970's about migrant children in Australia. The camera crew followed us around for a few months and filmed us at home, at school and the Victorian Markets. It shows my own Greek migrant family. My mom and dad working whilst we the kids look after themselves and go to school on our own. My (late) dad at Australian Motor Industries spot-welding Toyota Corollas whilst my mom worked at Playtex making bras and underwear. It also shows our Commer van which was pivotal in transporting the kids around (the first MPV?) to Greek school and back to their homes. It also shows Lee Street Primary School Carlton as the English School. Its filmed around Melbourne Victoria (Fitzroy, Gertrude Street Collingwood, Nicholson Street Carlton, Canning Street Carlton, Victoria Markets, etc).
