Il y a un magnifique sentier d'une longueur de 2,5 km qui part d'Hellnar et qui mène jusqu'à Arnarstapi en Islande. Il faut cependant revenir sur nos pas.
Le sentier longe la côte à travers d'étranges formations rocheuses et on peut apercevoir plusieurs arches basaltiques ainsi que plusieurs gouffres.
A Arnarstapi, il y a plusieurs geysers qui crachent périodiquement l'eau de la mer qui s'infiltre par des tunnels créés par l'érosion dans les rochers. Si on n'y porte aucune attention, on risque d'être totalement arrosé.
Parfois même, nous n'avons pas conscience que le sol dessous nos pieds n'a qu'une mince couche d'épaisseur.
En quittant une partie du sentier pour aller voir les geysers, nous nous sommes aperçus que ce sentier était tout bonnement le dessus d'une arche. Il y avait un gros trou béant en dessous du sentier.

At the shores of Hellnar are spectacular rock formations; much of the Snӕfellsnes Peninsula is incredibly picturesque along its coast, due to the previous volcanism of the area and the waves shattering the brittle lava rock that makes up the land.
Most notable amongst these that can be reached on foot is a protruding cliff called Valasnös. It has tunnels into the cliff, and its colouration is affected by the time of the day, the movements of the sea, and the prevailing weather conditions. The area is also a hub of birdlife.

Hellnar is an ancient fishing village, a cluster of old houses and buildings situated close to Arnarstapi on the westernmost part of the Snæfellsnes peninsula, Iceland.
Although Hellnar village used to be a major port of call for fishing vessels and the largest and busiest centre of fishing and fishing vessels in Snæfellsnes, there were also a few farms in and around Hellnar village along with quite a few semi-permanent and short-stay living quarters for seamen and the migrating workforce.

On the beach some spectacular rock formations are to be seen, one of which is a protruding cliff called Valasnös, which reaches across the ocean front and into the sea.
