We had a truly amazing experience visiting an active Shaolin temple in the Henan province of China
Incredible to see Shaolin monks practicing martial arts.
Journey was about 1 hour from luoyang city centre.

Travel China - Shaolin Monastery 少林寺 - Dengfeng - Zhengzhou - Henan Province
We did a weekend trip to Henan Province south of Beijing.
First we went to Zhengzhou the capitol of the Province. I strongly propose to get the bus ticket for the next day directly after arrival. Just check if the bus station is still open. We didn’t do it that way and lost 2h of valuable sight seeing time at the Shaolin Monastery or the overall area.
Zhengzhou has a small little old town with one Main Street and one night market. The most interesting place we found was the local soup restaurant straight at the beginning of the street.
Saturday was Shaolin Monastery day.

Jinqiao Hotel Zhengzhou

Autonomous Vending Machines from Neolix:
Shown at Baidu Create, these auto vending machines help with last mile delivery and look like autonomous cars. They can hold 2,400 liters worth of products that can be purchased with a smartphone, and they travel up to 50km/h. Autonomous vehicle maker Neolix expects to ship 1,000 self-driving vehicles in 2019.
Wuhan's driverless cars (AI cars):
Self-driving vehicles have using AI and LIDAR arrived in China as Wuhan's city government issued China's first commercial licenses for autonomous vehicles to three companies. Baidu and startups Halion Technologies and DeepBlue Technology will conduct tests along a 28-kilometer stretch of road with 5G connectivity (Baidu Apollo).

Luoyang is an industrial city in central China’s Henan province, in what is widely recognized as the region where Chinese civilization originated. Nearby, the Longmen Grottoes contain thousands of Buddhist rock carvings dating to the 5th century.

The Shaolin Monastery (Chinese: 少林寺; pinyin: Shàolín sì), also known as the Shaolin Temple, is a Chan (Zen) Buddhist temple in Dengfeng County, Henan Province, China. Believed to have been founded in the 5th century CE, the Shaolin Temple is the main temple of the Shaolin school of Buddhism to this day.
Shaolin Monastery and its Pagoda Forest were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010 as part of the Historic Monuments of Dengfeng.

Shaolin Monastery or Shaolin Temple (Chinese: ???; pinyin: Shàolín Sì; Wade–Giles: Shao4-lin2 Szu4, pronounced [??^??lin sî]; Cantonese Yale: Siulàhm Jí) is a Chán Buddhist temple on Mount Song, near Dengfeng, Zhengzhou, Henan province, China. It is led by Abbot Shi Yongxin. Founded in the fifth century, the monastery is long famous for its association with Chinese martial arts and particularly with Shaolin Kung Fu, and it is the best known Mahayana Buddhist monastery to the Western world.[1]
