Californian Woman BREAKS Into Giraffe Exhibit at The Zoo and Gets BRUTALLY KICKED In The FACE!!
MADISON (WKOW) – A California woman was injured Saturday after she climbed into a giraffe exhibit at the Henry Vilas Zoo and was kicked in the face.
According to the City of Madison Police Department, the woman, Amanda Hall, 24, of San Luis Obispo, climbed over one fence and partially through a second fence that is around the giraffe exhibit around 5:34 p.m. when Wally, a two-year-old, 12-foot tall giraffe licked Hall's face. He then turned and kicked her in the face.
Police say Hall sustained non-life threatening injuries. Zoo staff say the giraffes are capable of killing lions and say that Hall was lucky that she was not more seriously injured.
Police cited Hall for harassment of zoo animals, which has a fine of $686. Hall told officer that she climbed into the exhibit because she loves giraffes.

Giraffe killer: grandmother of 9 Rebecca Frazier gets death threats for posing with dead animal
A female bowhunter has come under fire for posing with a slain giraffe, after comedian Ricky Gervais lambasted her on Twitter.
Gervais tweeted a picture of Rebecca Francis on Monday, with the caption: What must've happened to you in your life to make you want to kill a beautiful animal & then lie next to it smiling?
Nearly 19 thousand people retweeted the post.
In the photo, Francis lays on the ground next to the dead giraffe. According to her Website, the photo was taken in 2010.
Francis, a grandmother of nine, has reportedly hunted large game in three separate continents.
My husband and I love the outdoors and any kind of adventure, Francis writes on her Website. We hunt elk and deer every year without fail, even through pregnancy, and nursing babies.
Some of Gervais's 7 million followers on Twitter responded angrily to the post.
There's nothing cultural about being an animal murdering vile piece of trash, one user wrote.
KILL THIS WOMAN too! wrote another.
Francis has not yet responded on her website, Facebook page or Twitter account.

Armored truck robbery: thieves make off with US$4 million in gold after tying up security guards
Police are searching for three armed men in North Carolina who robbed an armored truck and two armed guards of $4 million in gold, according to authorities.
Two TransValue Inc. security guards reportedly said they had been transporting precious metals, including silver and gold, from Florida to Massachusetts on Sunday evening when their truck developed mechanical problems and they pulled over on Interstate 95, the Wilson County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
The guards said that's when three armed men in a white van approached and ordered them to get down on the ground. The men tied the guards' hands behind their backs before forcing them to walk into the woods.
The armed men then took several barrels of gold, estimated at more than US$4 million in value, and fled, the guards said.
TransValue, based in Miami, specializes in transportation of precious metals and cash, according to its website. The company was founded in 1992, and states online that its shipments are insured through the company's all risk insurance policy up to US$100 million.
Owner of the company, Jesus Rodriguez, told The Wilson Times that the heist was very rare.

The Baltimore Zoo was created by act of the Maryland state legislature on April 7, 1876. (Its name was changed to The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore in 2004.) The Zoo is the third oldest zoo in the United States, behind Philadelphia (1873) and Cincinnati (1874). It actually had its beginnings as early as 1862, when the first of many citizens gave animals (the first being 4 swans) to Druid Hill Park for public display

Today the 135-plus acre zoo property is owned by the City of Baltimore and leased to the State of Maryland. The Maryland Zoological Society, established in 1967, operates the Zoo under a lease agreement with the state. The Zoological Society assumed full management of the Zoo in 1984. Currently, the Zoo’s animal collection encompasses birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles, representing nearly 200 species.
Animals are displayed in natural settings replicating their native habitats. The Zoo’s new state-of-the-art exhibit for African penguins, Penguin Coast, received the AZA 2016 Award for Exhibit Design. The Maryland Zoo is home currently to over 80 endangered penguins, and proud to be the largest and most successful African penguin breeding colony in all of North America.
Polar Bear Watch, the Zoo’s exhibit about life on the edge of the Arctic, features an authentic Tundra Buggy® from which visitors can watch polar bears Neva and Amelia Gray cavort in and out of the water. Visitors learn about animals in their own backyard, as well as those in more exotic locales, when they take a trek through the Maryland Wilderness, home to the award-winning Children’s Zoo, or embark on an African Journey.
MADISON: Olbrich Botanical Gardens
MADISON, WI - (CBS2/FOX28) From its stunning reflecting pools and arching bridges to the vibrant explosions of color, the 16 acres of Olbrich Botanical Gardens fills the senses with both excitement for what might be around the next bend and calm as you find that serene spot to sit and watch the world go by. The park near the shores of Madison's Lake Menona grew from an early vision to preserve the area for everyone to enjoy. Today the site entertains serious gardeners on a mission to see the latest and greatest in horticulture, as well as families and groups just out for a casual stroll. It's especially easy to spend as much or as little time as you want since admission is free. While bright red blossoms draw attention in the rose garden and Purple Cone Flowers grace the trails, one of the most notable focal points doesn't bloom, it glitters... like gold! The Thai Pavilion is a gift from the Thai government and Thai Alumni Association to the University of Madison. Craftsmen brought it to the states and carefully assembled it without using any nails. They meticulously finished it in gold leaf, by hand, leaving visitors to stop in their tracks and marvel at this sparkling jewel in the jungle. Directors at Olbrich Botanical Gardens say don't make the mistake of thinking that summer is over and the beauty of the blooms has faded, because fall is one of the most amazing times of year as Mums and Asters compliment the autumn colors of the north woods. Make sure to pack your camera as we go ROAD TRIPPIN' to Madison!
Student shoots coach dead: Russian Olympic student Jamshedj kills trainer at Novokuznetsk range
Click here for the full version:
A 16-year-old Russian target shooter being trained at an Olympic academy is being charged over the death of his coach in a shooting incident caught on security camera. Footage of the incident will be used as a the primary piece of evidence in the man’s death.
The incident occurred on June 13 in Novokuznetsk. In the clip, the shooter, Jamshedj, is first seen sitting in a chair at an indoor shooting range. He stands up and prepares for a round of practice shots. Coach Andrei Kiselev, 25, then enters the frame and appears to give the teen some instruction before sitting down. Moments later, Jamshedj takes aim and shoots him in the head.
The teen first covers his mouth then runs for the door. The coach falls from his chair and would later be pronounced dead at the scene.
Jamshedj claims he was only fooling around with his coach and did not realize the gun was loaded.
According to Russian media, the coach had previously asked the school to expel the student for drug use. He is now under the supervision of his parents.

Zookeeper trampled by rhino: keeper still alive after run in with two-ton a greater one-horned rhino
A zookeeper in England who was seriously injured after getting trampled by a two-ton rhino is in stable condition after surgery, the has confirmed.
The unidentified man, in his 50s, was discovered in the water in the rhino enclosure at Whipsnade Zoo at 8:15 a.m. with injuries to his chest, abdomen and pelvis.
It is believed the zookeeper was feeding the animals inside the Asian rhino enclosure at the zoo in the Dunstable area of Bedfordshire when a greater one-horned rhino, believed to be named Ajang, suddenly turned on him.
Ajang trampled and stamped on him before leaving him immersed in a wallowing pool. Colleagues ran in and helped him get out of the water.
The zookeeper was treated at the scene by paramedics and was given “enhanced pain relief” before being transported to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for further treatment.
An investigation is underway to find out happened. Doctors said the man is now out of surgery and his condition is stable.

Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo
Santa Fe College's Zoo Animal Technology Program is the premier wild animal technology program in the United States. To facilitate the training of animal professionals, Santa Fe College (SF) has its own fully operating zoo, the SF Teaching Zoo, which is located on SF's Northwest campus. It has been in existence since 1970 and at its current location on the Northwest Campus since 1972.
Set in a naturally wooded environment, the 10 acre Teaching Zoo is a fully functioning zoo with a diverse collection of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. Supervised by the professional staff of the Teaching Zoo, the students get hands-on experience in every aspect of wild animal care, from daily care, habitat construction, zoo maintenance to working with the public.
The zoo is open to the public seven days a week and is visited by over 50,000 guests each year. As a part of the training, students are required to participate in weekend and holiday work as well as working between semesters.
The Zoo Animal Technology Program is a five (consecutive) semester technical program that offers a wide range of practical instruction and clinical experiences leading to the Associate of Science Degree (AS) in Zoo Animal Technology. The program's curriculum is a series of sequential courses based on required professional competencies.
