200th Anniversary of Battle of Waterloo at Hero of Waterloo Hotel, The Rocks
This is certainly one of the most interesting jobs I have done thanks to Kazuko Nelson for trusting me with the vision.
Anyone who loves history must know the famous Battle of Waterloo that changed Europe and in a unique way has impacted Australia and the other English Colonies.
For those who doesn't know, 20 years after the battle, Paton decided to build a hotel in The Rocks, Sydney Australia and named it Hero of Waterloo. Moreover, it has The Duke of Wellington's face as their logo.
The 200th Anniversary Battle of Waterloo certainly has a significant connection to this hotel and we are celebrating in style.
Tonight history comes alive as Kazuko brings back our hero, the Duke of Wellington and his Nemesis, Napoleon Bonaparte along with drummers, horse and carriage, and a surprise visitor from the early proprietor.
Despite the pouring rain, 100+ guest including the NSW Governor were not going to miss this night.
If you are visiting Sydney, be sure to check out Hero of Waterloo for a taste of history, fine food & wine and Australia hospitality

Millers Point Sydney Australia - Exploring Millers Point 2019 (HD)
Millers Point Sydney, we explore historical Millers Point Sydney. Millers Point is located next door to The Rocks area of Sydney and is one of the first areas of European settlement in Australia.
Millers Point is joined by The Argyle Cut to The Rocks and is a unique historical area of Sydney. Situated right in the middle of the city, but totally seperate from it. Millers Point streets and laneways are lined with beautiful Victorian and Georgian style terrace houses from the 1800's with stunning views of Sydney Harbour.
We take a look at heritage listed hotels/pubs in the area, Harbourview Hotel, Hero of Waterloo Hotel, Lord Nelson Hotel, Palisade Hotel and Captain Cook Hotel.
Millers Point neighbours with Dawes Point, Walsh Bay and Barangaroo. We look across to the Walsh Bay Wharves Precinct, once a cargo ship storage area, now an entertainment and art precinct with high end apartments. We see where the old world meets the new world as Millers Point over looks new developments at Barangaroo and crosses over to the new Barangaroo Reserve.
Millers Point is an historical area filled with heritage houses, hotels, pubs, buildings, streets and laneways which will stand through time as a seperate area preserved for its history and uniqueness amidst a modern city surrounded by towering sky scrappers and the most beautiful harbour in the world, Sydney Harbour.
