Herring Island Environmental Sculpture Park - Yarra River - Melbourne Australia
Herring Island is the only island located on the Yarra River Melbourne - It not only has wonderful art on display but also native flora and fauna. There is a free ferry from Como Landing to island - see map in video. There is also free BBQ facilities, public toilets and makes for an ideal place for birthday parties and corporate functions.

Australia Day on Herring Island 2012
About 200 people enjoyed a great day on Herring Island - close enough to the city to see the fly past. Tranquil enough to soothe urban ills. All the exhibiting groups were represented in the demonstrations and Damian Curtain from Friends of Herring Island took a guided tour of the island and all its treasures - including the permanent collection of environmental sculpture.
Australia Day 2011on Herring Island
The Association of Sculptors of Victoria is the host exhibition in the gallery from 15th to 30th January. We had two sculptors working in the courtyard, talking to people and sharing ideas, as well as this representatives from Ceramics Victoria and Basketmakers of Victoria joined the party, and Damien Curtain from Friends of Herring Island ran a tour. As well as enjoying the bushland experience of the island we were close enough to the city to see the aerial display and get the news from the tennis.
