Hibou Conservation Area
Another one of Ontario Canada's well hidden secret gems. Lots of Waterside trails and reasonably sized public beach, super cheap park fee. #freshwaterbeaches
Best Beach in Owen Sound? Hibou Conservation Area
Hibou Beach is my favourite beach in the Owen Sound area for 2 main reasons!
1. It's quiet! There never seems to be more than a handful of people at Hibou! Since I'm not a large crowd (sauble beach) kind of guy, this is right up my alley!
2. Since it's located on the East Side of Georgian Bay, you get to witness some incredible sunsets!
A quint beach with nice sand and shallow waters makes it great for the whole family! It's 10 minutes north of Owen Sound, just south of Leith.

I took a trip to check out Indian Fall, just north of Owen Sound. It's a pretty nice spot! The hike is a little tricky though!
Official Visit to Owen Sound
This film was shot by Cy Lemon, a longtime school teacher and amateur filmmaker. The ceremony was held in the Market Square in 1959, with Mayor Sargent as the master of ceremonies. I think the occasion was a visit from Ontario's Lieutenant Governor John Keiller MacKay, but that's just a guess...if anyone knows for sure, please comment. I found it especially interesting looking at all of the businesses that were around the area at that time. The students in the shot attended Bayview School, where Mr. Lemon was teaching.
