MHFN Chase Team set out for Cypress Hills on June 19 and caught a tornado warned storm. After punching through the hail core behind Extreme Tornado Tours, the team went the back route into Elkwater. While high in the hills, they were traveling parallel to the wall cloud, and as they got to the lake, the storm tried to produce tornadoes.
UPDATE: We never planned or wanted to follow someones chase team. Right after ETT passed us, while we were filming lightning as you see in the video, it started to hail, so we took the only possible route away from the hail which took us right to where the tour went. To then make another attack on the storm, we passed the group and ended up chasing with a couple of other chasers. -Greg (Team Leader)
Canyon Creek Ice Cave Hike in 4K | Journey Alberta
Today I hike to the Canyon Creek Ice Cave, located near Bragg Creek. The trail starts with a 7ish kilometer hike along a road to get to the main trail, as the public can't drive on this road. From there you ascend a steep trail, and eventually have to partially scramble for 15 minutes or so to get up to the cave entrance. The cave is pretty deep, and you can explore a few hundred meters back. Make sure to bring some kind of helmet, lots of water, a headlamp, appropriate clothing/shoes as it is very clod in the cave!
