National Rip Tide Awareness Week Safety Tips

During National Rip Current Awareness Week, we talk with Vicki Cech, whose son Andy Fox drowned in Grand Haven at age 17 after being caught in a rip current in 2003. Vicki is passionate about sharing rip current safety tips to help other families keep loved ones safe. We don't want loved ones to be lost out there. It's just a horrible and scary thing that Andy went through in his last moments, we don't want anybody to live through a bad situation like that. Vicki says Andy would be very proud of all of the positive rip current safety knowledge sharing that has come out of his loss. In this video, she shares some rip tide safety tips.

Deep End of the Pool 2

This is really part II of a video that I uploaded earlier called Underwater Scenes Part 1. This video was taken in water around Key West (particularly Eastern Sambo Reef and the area know as the lakes.) using a GoPro camera. We were out with Captain Victoria Impallomeni and her first mate Erin. Some of the scenes in this video were shot by Erin.

Boy Dies on Water Park Slide

Caleb Schwab, 10, died while riding a slide promoted as the tallest water slide in the world at the Schlitterbahn Water Park in Kansas City, Kansas.
