Episode 4:
The second episode from my multi-part Japan Rail Series — a visual journey showcasing a variety of destinations during a 21-day rail itinerary across Japan. With an emphasis on capturing photography and video of aesthetic locations during the winter time, this journey aims to inspire people to visit the beautiful urban and rural destinations of Japan!
This second episode in this Japan travel series continues our journey from Sakurambo-Higashine through Ōmiya to Unazuki-Onsen via the Kurobe Gorge and then onto Takayama and Shirakawa-go.
We visited Unazuki-Onsen for the Kurobe Gorge Scenic Railway, however, we accidentally overlooked the operating times of the railway, as it is fully closed during winter. Regardless of the closure, we still had a fantastic time in Unazuki-Onsen, exploring the quiet town and capturing photos of the bridges and mountain viewpoints.
We took a few trains south to Takayama along an insanely scenic and wintry route. The weather wasn't in our favour, but Takayama still surprised us with its unique character. We felt vibes similar to Kyoto and enjoyed exploring the old town, even if it was miserably wet.
To conclude this episode, we visited the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Shirakawa-go. This traditional Japanese village has been preserved in authentic beauty, with quaint stylings such as thatched roof buildings and open natural areas.
This whole trip and itinerary was planned and paid for independent of any tourism boards or businesses. The locations and accommodations are our genuine preferences and recommendations, as standard across the content on this channel. Just Your Average Japanese Apartment
A topic requested by some people, here's a video of my apartment in Japan. It's a fairly normal, traditional style place. It's considered family size here, having 2 bedrooms, a living room, and a bath.

Practising Russian and showing off the apartment
This may not be as great as my other Russian practice video. Here I'm just naming some things. There's a part where I'm trying to say три (three) but it sorta sounds like при if anyone picks up on that.
стул and стол can be confusing as they differ by just one letter though the former means chair while the latter means table
again correct me on my mistakes
