Places to Go: Ōkōchi Sansō
A beautiful destination often overlooked due to its location at the end of the winding bamboo forests of Arashiyama, the Ōkōchi Sansō Villa is the former residence of Japanese period film star Ōkōchi Denjirō (1898-1962). Located in the foothills of Mt. Ogura, Ōkōchi’s Villa includes a traditional home, tea house, and Buddhist halls on the property amidst carefully planned and cultivated Japanese-style gardens designed to showcase the best of each of the four seasons. Despite being constructed relatively recently, the villa employs classic architecture and traditional techniques, appearing far statelier than its age would imply. The villa is also well known for its view of Kyoto City spread out below it. Though the admission fee is steeper than most of its kind, the price includes a cup of green tea and a Japanese sweet served in the teahouse where you can relax and rest your feet while enjoying the view. Fans of the samurai film genre can also enjoy an open air museum dedicated to the villa’s original owner and jidaigeki actor Ōkōchi Denjirō.

Places to Go: Nanzen-ji Temple
Formerly known as Zenrinzen-ji, Nanzen-ji is a Zen Buddhist temple in the Higashiyama area of Kyoto. Surrounded by beautiful mountains, it is one of the most well-known Rinzai Zen temples in Japan. It was originally Emperor Kameyama’s retirement villa and it includes a temple hall and garden centered around a pond. Nanzen-ji is home to a sanmon (a great gate that holds importance within Japanese Buddhist temples), an exquisite European style canal and also multiple sub-temples, each with its own charm. You can enter the Nanzen-ji complex free of charge, but the Abbot’s Quarters and each sub-temple has its own entrance fee. The area is one of Kyoto’s best spot to view the romantic red and orange autumn leaves in the fall.

Places to Go: Sagano Bamboo Forest (Chikurin)
One of the most photographed sights in Kyoto, the bamboo forest in Sagano Arashiyama is a natural gem. Walking under the shade of the towering bamboo, you can feel somewhat lost in nature despite having been in a bustling open area moments before. The bamboo forest has entrances accessible from the main shopping street, Nonomiya Shrine, or Tenryū-ji’s gardens, and leads you up a slope until you arrive at the Ōkōchi Sansō Villa. Depending on the season it can be rather crowded on the path, but the wonder of peering off to the side into stalk after stalk of old bamboo growth isn’t diminished no matter the surrounding people. Some choose to take a rickshaw ride through the forest for an added experience.

Designed by the famous Ogawa Jihei (Ueji), the garden features a charming mix of Eastern and Western styles, with a beautiful pond and bridge. Kyoto's autumn leaves (kōyō) are some of the most famous in the country, and one of the most popular places to view the changing colors is at Eikan-dō temple. A Pure Land Buddhist temple originally founded in 853, Eikan-dō's precincts are filled to the brim with maple trees, which turn a variety of fall colors come November and brighten up the landscape in shades of yellow, orange, and red. Beautiful Kyoto: Fireworks Festival in Kameoka, Kyoto (Kameoka Heiwa-sai Hozugawa Hanabi Taikai)
It's just not a Japanese summer without fireworks! The sight of the traditionally made fireworks exploding in the night sky makes you forget the heat of summer and never fails to draw an ooh and ah from the crowd. In the Kyoto area there are a few festivals that offer fireworks shows, one of them being the Kameoka Heiwa-sai Hozugawa Hanabi Taikai.
Held in August, the festival takes place along the Hozugawa river in Kameoka, a city over the mountains to the west of Kyoto. Though it takes a bit of time to get there, over 75,000 people are said to have visited to enjoy the festival last year! Head out to Kameoka with our team, sit back, and enjoy the fireworks!

Sakura-Kyoto-2012!
In Japan, cherry blossoms also symbolize clouds due to their nature of blooming en masse, besides being an enduring metaphor for the ephemeral nature of life, an aspect of Japanese cultural tradition that is often associated with Buddhistic influence, and which is embodied in the concept of mono no aware. The association of the cherry blossom with mono no aware dates back to 18th-century scholar Motoori Norinaga. The transience of the blossoms, the extreme beauty and quick death, has often been associated with mortality; for this reason, cherry blossoms are richly symbolic, and have been utilized often in Japanese art, manga, anime, and film, as well as at musical performances for ambient effect. There is at least one popular folk song, originally meant for the shakuhachi (bamboo flute), titled Sakura, and several pop songs. The flower is also represented on all manner of consumer goods in Japan, including kimono, stationery, and dish-ware.
featured here are some popular sites in Kyoto such as Shinnyo-do temple, Munetada jingo, Yoshida Mountain, Philosophers path, Kawabata door, Yamato Bashi in Gion, Benten-Hama in Chushojima, Momoyama Castle and Daigo-ji temple.
【散歩】秋のパリ祭で超盛り上がる円頓寺商店街と四間道を歩く【名古屋】 Walk in Endoji&Shikemichi Street Paris Fes. , Nagoya JAPAN.

I have been exploring the retro shopping district in Nagoya Endoji shopping mall and the atmosphere of Shikemichi area. It is a wonderful city where fashionable shops are open one after another, but on this day Paris festival in autumn was being held and walking was a lot of bustle.
Perhaps, these two days may have been the place with the most people in Nagoya. I would be happy if you enjoyed the movie in the mood that I went to the exciting Paris Festival.
