Klamath River Overlook whale watching Drive Three Tree
-Klamath itself, offers a great drive along the Coastal Highway. The trail leads south across the 101 bridge where we turn west to exit. This drive is part paved, part gravel but wide and smooth as we drive 4x4 SUVs. You will enjoy the fantastic vistas of the ocean that will be seen through the horizon as we head west.
-Travel Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway. Not even the Avenue of the Giants can beat this! A 10-mile scenic drive through ancient forest of redwoods. Stop and walks1/8 of a mile to Big Massive Tree. Watch for Roosevelt elk grazing in Prairie Creek. Beware of adult elk, they are as big as a horse and capable of causing great harm! They can be very aggressive and dangerous!
Trees of Mystery is a roadside attraction located 39 miles south of the Oregon border. The property contains towering redwoods and a number of unique tree formations, many of which can be seen from the Trail of Mysterious Trees features some 50+ chain-saw sculptures and carvings illustrating the imaginative stories about Paul Bunyan and his logging crew. Trees of Mystery is best known for the 49-foot-tall statue of Paul Bunyan and the 35-foot-tall Babe the Blue Ox, Constructed largely of wooden beams, chicken wire and stucco.

Crescent City California, Video from the bluff out over the Pacific Ocean, pretty nice view!
This was filmed on 2-11-2014 just after I drove through the Redwood forest. The forest is located about 7 miles east of where I filmed this. It was overcast but you still see how beautiful it is to stand on the coast of California and look out. Just 30 miles up the 101 highway from this video, there was 300 or 400 foot high overlook. That is a pretty spectacular place to stand look at the ocean.

Along the way, look for access to numerous trailheads such as Big Tree and Ah Pah. Be sure to keep an eye out for the wild elk herds that roam the park.

Big Muddy Speakers Series (Kansas City)
hosted by Healthy Rivers Partnership
at the Westport Coffeehouse Theater
Presentation by Corey Kudrna,
Squaw Creek Wildlife Refuge Specialist.
Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge preserves a unique and
important slice of Missouri River habitat. This 7,350 acre
refuge, part of the National Wildlife Refuge system, includes
3,400 acres of wetland habitat and lies adjacent to the Loess
Hills.
These wetlands serve a crucial stopover point for waterfowl on
their migration path. More than a million birds (especially snow
geese and bald eagles) can be seen at various times during the
migration. The wetlands combine several natural wetlands and
several managed impoundments.
Squaw Creek is beautiful to behod. At Squaw Creek swallows burrow into the loess. Cattails flourish at Squaw Creek.
The channelization of the Missouri River and connected
tributaries have reduced the amount of floodplain wetlands in the
valley, making such refuges even more crucial for wildlife
habitat. Wildlife Refuge Specialist Corey Kudrna will join us to
discuss the importance of floodplain wetlands to the wildlife of
the Missouri River valley.
