10 Most MYSTERIOUS Places That VANISH Underwater!
From historic islands that have been around for centuries, to an entire national park, here are 10 places that vanish underwater!
Subscribe For New Videos!
10. St. Michael’s Mount
St. Michael’s Mount is an island to the South West of England, which is home to a medieval castle and church- the sort of place you’d expect to see in Game of Thrones! The island got its name because it is said that St. Michael appeared to a group of fishermen in the year 495 to warn the fisherman of certain peril! The oldest surviving buildings date all the way back to the 12th century.
9. Canadian Mural
If you’ve ever looked out across a bay and thought the endless mass of grey concrete was rather depressing, then you might just change your mind after seeing the Bay of Fundy. The bay lies between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in Canada. It’s claim to fame is that you here you can experience the highest tidal range on earth, with the distance between low and high tide being as much as 52 feet.
8. Curio Bay
If there’s one thing we know about New Zealand, is that it’s home to some stunning landscapes!! Especially when the Lord of the Rings movies came out, but one of its lesser known places is also one of its most amazing. Curio Bay is a region of rocky coastline in the southland district of the country. It’s a favourite spot for tourists because of the wealth of wildlife.
7. East Quoddy Lighthouse
East Quoddy Lighthouse is on Campobello Island, New Brunswick. In the 1820’s, trade between the island and the coast of Maine flourished, and it became a hive of activity for fishing and shipbuilding. The only problem was that the shallow waters in the region were treacherous for the boats, so the lighthouse was built to warn sailors that they were getting close to land.
6. Mont Saint Michel
Mont-Saint-Michel is one of the most popular tourist attractions in France, and became a UNESCO world heritage site in 1979. The sanctuary is surrounded by medieval walls, with a series of buildings and towers that rise above the base, and the ancient abbey that stands over it all. The structure is about 3,000 feet in circumference, and is built upon a granite outcrop that reaches 256 high from the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel.
5. The Manjuyod White Sandbar
Have you seen those images of bamboo huts sitting on stilts above the ocean? Well the Manjuyod White Sandbar is one of those places. It’s in the Philippines and, while being just as stunning, it is a cheaper option for tourists than the more famous sites like the Maldives.
4. Passage Du Gois
The Passage Du Gois is a natural 2.5 mile long road on the Atlantic coast of France, which is often named as one of the most dangerous roads in the world. The stone paved route connects the Île de Noirmoutier with the coastal town of Beauvoir-sur-mer, and has been used since the 16th century.
3. Jindo Island
Every year, on the southern tip of the Korean Peninsula, something amazing happens. It attracts hundreds of thousands of people, both locals and tourists, and is a mass celebration. Known as the Jindo Sea-Parting festival, a natural phenomenon occurs that sees the northern part of the East China Sea open up to reveal a 1.8 mile pathway that connects Jindo Island with its neighbouring island of Modo.
2. Angel Road
Angel Road is a stunning stretch of sand that can be found near the port of Tonosho, which is on the Shodoshima Island in the Seto Inland Sea of Japan. It connects the mainland with three smaller islands that lie close by but, because of the tides, the road is only revealed twice a day when the sea level is at its lowest.
1. Green Lake
This is perhaps by far, the most amazing place that vanishes underwater. The Green Lake, in Tragoess, Austria, is normally only about 3 feet deep for most of the year. Visitors go to see the beautiful scenery, and to sit on benches next to the water to enjoy the tranquillity. There are small bridges to cross streams, and it looks like a perfect scene for a landscape painting.

Saamis Tepee and Police Point Park - Medicine Hat, AB, Canada
My first 19 slides are from the Saamis Tepee and the surrounding area. The last 18 are of Police Point Park in Medicine Hat.
About the SAAMIS TEPEE
~~Saamis Tepee is a very recognizable landmark located easily in the community of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.
Towering at just over 65 metres (215 feet) the giant steel tepee looms over the Seven Persons Creek river valley and its coulees.
The Saamis Tepee was built in 1988 for the Calgary Winter Olympics by Steve Illes. The tepee once housed the famous Olympic flame during the ceremonies.
The tepee was meant as a symbol of the First Nation people during the Olympics. The colors of the tepee rings have significance. The white ring is said to represent purity, the red represents the sun and the blue means water.
After the Olympics, the giant tepee was disassembled and moved to Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. Today, it sits on a ridge, easily viewed from Highway #1 when coming and going from Medicine Hat.
Inside the Saamis Tepee are a series of 10 historic story boards detailing the lives of the First Nation people. There are giant murals, beautifully done - each with information billboards.
From the Saamis Tepee there is a recreation trail leading north which connects to the Kin Coulee Park and the Heritage Trail System.~~
About POLICE POINT PARK
~~Police Point Park is a wilderness park and recreation destination situated on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River in the community of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.
The 98 hectare ( 242 acre) park is a wildlife nature reserve heavily decorated in a forest of cottonwood trees with open fields of prairie grasslands. It is a popular destination for walking, sightseeing and birdwatching.
This Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada park is part of a flood plain and is identified as a riparian area with a sensitive eco system. At one time the parkland was a NWMP (North West Mounted Police) outpost monitoring the fur trade and policing whisky.
Today, it is a wilderness park with very little human intervention located away from city sights and sounds. The lack of noise and high people traffic combined with the high volume of trees and the rich river environment - the park attracts many birds to the area.
The Police Point Park is one of the more popular birdwatching destinations in Medicine Hat for viewing song birds and waterfowl.
Some of the bird sightings may include the Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers, Fox Sparrows, White-throated Sparrows, ,American Tree Sparrows, American Kestrel, Juncos, Red-breasted Nuthatch, House Finches and Black-capped Chickadees.
Connecting to the park is a paved trail and exploring the park is a series of red rock gravel, dirt and sand trails. The paved trail connects the city of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada to Police Point Park via the Heritage Trail System.
The side trails in the Police Point Park explore the forested park and the banks of the South Saskatchewan River. Many of the trails are loop routes. Most are very easy going, short and level paths.
The main gravel pathway leads visitors out to the bend in the South Saskatchewan River where the mighty river meets the Rose and Seven Persons Creeks.
Along the trails are information signs, lookout viewing platforms and some sightseeing benches providing some of the best views in the community of the river.
At the entrance of the park is the Police Point Nature Centre. Here they provide washrooms, interpretive guides and more information signs.~~

Pueblo's Arkansas Levee Mural
Pueblos Arkansas Levee mural is a great example of how something widely perceived as negative (grafitti, in this case) can be turned into a cultural opportunity. Once a long and large slab of concrete designed to channel runoff of the Arkansas River from the Pueblo Reservoir, the Levee became a natural site for grafitti artists, many of them rather clever students back in the 1980s. While the city could have fought it, covering it with abstract blobs of leftover paint, they embraced it, let a group organize it and, at 3-miles long and growing, allowed it to turn into the worlds longest continuous painting (according to the Guiness Book of World Records).
Please enjoy this slideshow which is NOT completely comprehensive, unfortunately (hey, it was 104 degrees out there), but covers most of the 3-miles beginning at the west end and heads East, including the south side of the Levee at the east end, which is mostly devoted to murals by children. We also recommend clicking the four arrows in the lower-right-hand corner of the slideshow to watch it in full-screen mode for the greatest appreciation of its details.
Woodland home flood as storm moves through
Knee-high floodwaters pooled alongside roadways in Yolo County on Wednesday. The rising waters spilled onto streets -- and into homes. A homeowner and his family live in a house that sits on an old plant nursery plot in Woodland. They have lived at the house for eight years, but never experienced flooding until this year. The recent storms flooded their house three times. Get the full story in the video above.

Grand River Foulds Bridge, Glen Morris Ontario
Built in 1972 and named for a Brant County secretary-treasurer, Foulds Bridge crosses the Grand River upstream of Glen Morris where the average grade is 1.5m/km (8.5 ft/mi). It crosses the Cambridge-Paris rail trail amid a large Carolinian forest. The Grand occupies a glacial spillway with many boulders visible along the riverbed. This slide show presents various summer and autumnal views of the bridge, river and forested shores, accompanied by composer John Barry performing 'The Deep', bookended with truisms by author Don Drews.
Fort St. John Canada 150 Mural
2017 marks Canada’s 150 years of Confederation and the 75th anniversary of the Alaska Highway. To celebrate, the citizens of Fort St. John created a Mosaic 150 Mural to represent our community in a nation-wide project.
Engage Toms River Community Mural Project Time Lapse
The Jay and Linda Grunin Foundation has been so overwhelmed by the community coming together for the Engage Toms River Community Mural Project, we employed The Production House to document the whole community's work. This is a teaser--2 months in 2 days. Over 500 painters working on 188 5x5 panels. It's incredible. Enjoy!
