Prince Charles in Bath

Highgrove House
Highgrove House is the family residence of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, situated south west of Tetbury in Gloucestershire, England. Built in the late 18th century, Highgrove and its estate was owned by various families until it was purchased in 1980 by the Duchy of Cornwall from Maurice Macmillan. Charles remodelled the Georgian house with neo-classical additions in 1987. The duchy manages the estate and the nearby Duchy Home Farm. The house is noted for its extensive gardens which receive more than 30,000 visitors a year. The house and gardens are run according to Charles' environmental principles, and have been the subject of several books and television programmes. Charles frequently hosts various charitable events at the house.

Inside Prince Charles And Camilla's Gorgeous Home
If you're new, Subscribe! →
Clarence House, the primary home of Prince Charles and Camilla, is an architectural treasure within walking distance of Buckingham Palace in London. The impressive four-story building was designed between 1825 and 1827, and before Charles and Camilla came to live at the estate, it was home of the late Queen Mother for nearly 50 years. Although the royal family's official site says the building underwent extensive refurbishment and redecoration to become a home for Charles, much remained the same as it had in the early- to mid-1900s. Even the queen's furniture and art remain in the rooms they were originally placed. If you can't make it to London and experience an annual August tour, here's a quick look at some of the highlights of the gorgeous home of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall...

Places to see in ( Tetbury - UK )
Places to see in ( Tetbury - UK )
Tetbury is a small town and civil parish within the Cotswold district of Gloucestershire, England. Tetbury lies on the site of an ancient hill fort, on which an Anglo-Saxon monastery was founded, probably by Ine of Wessex, in 681.
During the Middle Ages, Tetbury became an important market for Cotswold wool and yarn. The Tetbury Woolsack Races, Founded 1972, is an annual competition where participants must carry a 60-pound (27 kg) sack of wool up and down a steep hill (Gumstool Hill). The Tetbury Woolsack Races take place on the late May Bank Holiday, the last Monday in May each year (27 May for 2013).
Notable buildings in the town include the Market House, built in 1655 and the late-eighteenth century Gothic revival parish church of St Mary the Virgin and St Mary Magdalene and much of the rest of the town centre, dating from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The Market House is a fine example of a Cotswold pillared market house and is still in use as a meeting place and market. Other attractions include the Police Bygones Museum. Chavenage House, Highgrove House and Westonbirt Arboretum lie just outside the town.
Tetbury has won five consecutive Gold awards in the Regional Heart of England in Bloom competition in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 and was category winner Best Small Town in 2008, 2009 and 2010. In 2010 Tetbury was Overall Winner of Heart of England in Bloom and won a Judges Discretionary Award for Community Achievement. Tetbury won Silver Gilt as a first-time entrant in the National Britain in Bloom Campaign in 2009 and a second Silver Gilt in Britain in Bloom in 2011. The Tetbury town crest features two dolphins.
Tetbury is situated in a landscape of gently rolling hills primarily used for farmland, including grazing of sheep and grain production. Its location is associated with a nearby major east-west trade or drovers trail, which would account for its early importance as a wool trade centre. Nearby to the west are Owlpen Manor, Beverston Castle and Calcot Manor. The Tetbury Avon, a tributary of the Bristol Avon, known locally as the Ingleburn rises to the north of the town.
Tetbury is renowned for its antique and bric à brac shops. The town centre also has a number of independent specialist food and clothing shops, banks, charity shops, estate agents and other shops including lifestyle clothing brand Overider and the Prince of Wales's original Highgrove Shop.
Tetbury has bus services which serve local towns. Tetbury railway station closed in 1964, and the nearest railway station is now at Kemble; the nearest major airport is Bristol Airport. General aviation uses Kemble Airport at Kemble. The former airfield at Long Newnton (1 mi southeast of Tetbury) was originally the home of the Cotswold Gliding Club, which has since moved 6 mi to the north to Aston Down. Tetbury is on the A433, with easy access to the M4 and M5 motorways. The A4135 originates in Tetbury and proceeds westerly through Beverston.

BEAUTIFUL WALKING TRAILS NEAR LONDON ( WINDSOR CASTLE )
Slough to Egham via Windsor Great Park walk
An introductory walk passing Windsor Castle with lots of history, deer, pheasants, and the Royal Landscape.
This Walk is from Upton Court Park (Slough) to Virginia Waters (Egham). It is a very easy walk covering approximately 16km over 4 hours of walking, not including breaks and stoppage time, and the elevations are very soft and gradual. There are lots of amenities at the waypoints, which are each no more than an hour apart at a very comfortable pace, including toilets and cafes.
This walk starts in a built up town, Slough, and ends in the very pretty gardens of the Royal Landscape, giving the very spiritual and uplifting effect of walking out of urban civilisation into an idyllic rural setting. This is a very good introductory walk for those new to it and theres lots of absorbing local culture and history to discover along the way. A visit to Windsor castle would not go amiss. There's some nice wildlife to explore, with deer and pheasants at various points through the Royal Landscape which you are sure to see if you are quiet enough.
The way points are: Upton Court Park, Windsor Castle, Snow Hill, Saville Gardens & Valley Gardens.
Apologies for not having plotted the route from train station to train station, but this is very easy to adapt. Slough Station is a good starting point, only about a ten minute walk from the start at Upton Court Park, and Virginia Waters or Egham Stations are not too far from the end at Valley Gardens/Egham Wick. This will add about 3km to the total distance.
