RIDING VIETNAM'S CENTRAL HIGHLANDS Adventure Oz
Road riding Vietnam? I pictured rutted dirt roads with the occasional patchy bit of paved road but this place is a road riding mecca, with stunning ocean views along the coast highway, and endless corners as you wind through the highlands for days on end with Vietnam Motorbike Tours.
And it is a good morning... a great night's sleep in a very comfortable hotel on the coast in Nha Trang. One thing that kept amazing us was the quality of the hotels in each town and how cheap they were. Your dollar definitely goes a long way with Vietnam Motorbike Tours.
Our motley crew saddles up and we head inland. Today's destination? Dalat. A beautiful Vietnam town that is the gateway to the central highlands. The plan is to get us off the beaten track as much as possible, and it happens pretty quickly with the narrowest bridge I have ever ridden across.
The adventure with Vietnam Motorbike Tours could start quickly today. Our guide says there was a major landslide in the mountains overnight and traffic is banked up for miles. But apparently roads get fixed very quickly here and overnight they have already cleared the road and traffic is flowing again.
All the photos and films about Vietnam led me to believe the whole country was flat as a pancake and covered in rice paddies. That tends to be the case along the coastline, but once you head inland the country is dominated by mountain ranges. Along with the change in terrain comes a change in climate too and hot humid conditions of the coast disappear as we climb into the foothills and enjoy cool air along with the views. I'm impressed but the guides say I ain't seen nothing yet.
Everyone loved our Vietnam Motorbike Tours guides. Cheeky, fun, informative. And good cooks too. If there wasn't a decent restaurant stop for lunch we would pull up somewhere in a scenic shady spot and they would cook up a storm. Nice one guys!
Everyone loved the Vietnam Motorbike Tours bikes too. There are tough size restrictions in Vietnam but we all agreed you would probably get into trouble fast with too much power on these roads.
Vietnam has come a long way since being ravaged by the Vietnam War... or the American was as it's known here. As we get further into the mountains the roads are still paved and in great condition. And even when we get into remote areas later on the roads are still fine. I asked the tour guys if they had thought about getting adventure bikes but it seems the government has done such a good job of paving all the roads that there's no point. I asked about Vietnam dirt riding and they said there is a bit of dirt riding in the far north but most of it is either illegal or riding in questionable areas so they have stuck with the road riding. And I can see why with Vietnam Motorbike Tours. Even though I'm a dirt rider at heart this is a rider's paradise.
Dalat, gateway to the Vietnam highlands. Beautiful temples, crisp mountain air, and a curious blend of Vietnamese culture and its French colonial past. The French colonialists made this their retreat from the hot coastal areas, the Americans did the same thing during the war.
The Vietnam temples are inspiring, but before we get too spiritual we remember there's a pile of cold beer waiting for us at the hotel so it's helmets on a final time. Tonight we get a real slice of French colonial history... one of the old style hotels and its old world charm. Now where's that beer?
Upper crust adventure at its best, Vietnam Motorbike Tours.

P9 Kon Tum, Pleiku, Buon Me Thuot | From North to South of Viet Nam | Phượt xuyên Việt
It was a surprise when we drove from Quang Nam to Kon Tum through Ngoc Linh Nature Reverse. It was so cold and foggy. We thought we were lost. The road was not really good. Even some parts were stuck by the soil and rocks falling down from the mountains. We hardly met any other drivers or locals.
Anyway, it was a big wow.

Big Vietnam Motorbike Tour Ho Chi Minh Trail – 15 Days | Vietnam Top Riders
The Ho Chi Minh Trail was closely tied to the Vietnam War. Being the main bloodline from North to South that transferred supplies, manpower and ammunition to the battlefields, its 6000 days in service have proven to be invaluable for the reunification effort of the North Vietnam Army. There is no war in the present day, and parts of the trail have been converted into the modern Ho Chi Minh Highway that runs from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City. Nature has reclaimed many pathways, and hidden them under its leafy embrace. Traveling with Vietnam Top Riders, we will take your ride to many of the old roads with remnants of the war and view the amazing North Truong Son system. It will be a ride of the lifetime! From winding roads, spectacular sceneries to intriguing and peaceful villages of unique tribe people, you will see the country gradually changing itself along each kilometer spending on the wheels. Vietnam is a short word, but what it contains is another world.

Vietnam Offroad Motorbike Adventures Of Ho Chi Minh Trail/Road June 2015
Vietnam Offroad Motorbike Adventures ( offers amazing motorbike voyage down the legendary Ho Chi Minh trail/road. We tour all the year round, mostly in Northern Vietnam using Japanese Honda motorbikes 100-250cc. 4x4 tours are also available on request.
Many things were said about this trail/road, mostly about the war. The original trail was created in 1959 and served the war in 6,000 days. Now Vietnam Offroad invites you to venture down this road and see what the current tail/road looks like. Starting from Hanoi, we take you to the mountain in North Vietnam via Phu Yen and Mai Chau before head down South. This offers the snaking mountain roads, hill tribe people customs and traditions because it’s hard to find in Southern part of the country. During the war it is an important trail, nowadays it’s an important road connecting North and South Vietnam. After two days in North Vietnam, we ride to Hoi An via Tan Ky, Phong Nha National Park, Dong Hoi, Khe Sanh Combat Base and Hue former Imperial City. If you have more time, extend the trip on the second part of the Trail/Road all the way to Saigon via the Central Highlands (Kon Tum, Buon Ma Thuot, Dalat), Nha Trang and Cat Tien National Park. This is really a big trip passing through many provinces and retracing some parts featured in the Top Gear Vietnam Special show. A real opportunity to experience Vietnam on two motorcycle beyond the way BBC’s Top Gear Vietnam show was created. Just tell us your time frame and we will get back with the best itinerary that works with your time frame.
We promise to show you a lesser known Vietnam that not many tourist ever visited.

Song: Hello Vietnam!
Vietnam Tourism, Vietnam Cities, Vietnam Vacation (HD)
Vietnam is an utter assault on the senses; at once dizzying, frenetic and fascinating. Conical-hatted street vendors sell their wares on the pavements outside gleaming high-rises and exquisite temples are surrounded by streets buzzing with thousands of motorbikes.
Wherever you travel you can't fail to be intrigued by this frenetic, fascinating country. The capital Hanoi is the focus for arts in Vietnam and has been since its foundation in the year 1010 while in Ho Chi Minh City business is king. Hue is steeped in imperial history, Hoi An the place to soak up the atmosphere and the largely undeveloped coastline is the place to kick back.
Life in urban Vietnam is conducted on the streets. In bia hois (pavement pubs) men sup ice-cold beer and odours from makeshift food stalls fill the nostrils: see steaming pho, a noodle soup with various unidentifiable chunks of meat, or grilled chicken feet. Along nearly all the moped-clogged streets produce is sold. Tubs wriggle with live sturgeon, crabs and frogs (still a delicacy from French colonial days), baskets are top heavy with colourful and bizarre fruit, and every possible piece of a pig is on sale.
Rural Vietnam is entirely different. Just a short distance from the cities, water buffalo wallow in green rice paddies and elegant women wearing traditional conical headwear cycle along dusty paths.
Vietnam things to see and do
======================
Beautiful beaches
-----------------------------
The beaches of Vietnam are superb. Nha Trang is the perfect combination of a long sandy beach for relaxing days under the palm trees and a town with restaurants and bars to pass the balmy evenings. Boat trips take you out to nearby islands and divers can explore the nearby coral reefs. Alternatively, try Vung Tau, southeast of Ho Chi Minh City for some superb snorkelling around the many offshore islands or head east of Phan Thiet to the sand dunes of Mui Ne, which stretch for miles. Whatever your budget there'll be a resort to suit you. Relax on the white-sand beaches or have a go at many of the water sports on offer.
Cao Dai Temple
-------------------------
Head out to Tay Ninh to view the colourful midday service of the intriguing Cao Dai sect held in a large temple almost Disney-esque in style. The followers wear red, blue and yellow robes and chant to the accompaniment of a traditional orchestra. En route, scramble through the tunnels at Cu Chi, from where the Viet Cong successfully launched attacks against US forces.
Central Highlands
--------------------------
Dalat is as far as most people go into the Central Highlands but head further into the mountains for stunning views and waterfalls. You are assured of a warm welcome in Buon Ma Thuot, a coffee growing region and home to the Montagnards. The Ho Chi Minh trail is easily reached from Kontum.
Cooking lessons
Learn the subtleties of Vietnamese cookery at a class in ancient Hoi An. Submerge into the hustle and bustle of the market to buy provisions before retreating to the calm of the kitchen. The best part of the day -- you get to eat what you have helped prepare!
Dalat
-----------
To escape the heat of the plains, head for Dalat, a former colonial hill station, reminiscent of a French town, with faded, elegant villas evocative of another era. Colonists from Saigon headed to its cool climes as well as the emperor and his entourage. The romantic lakes and alpine scenery are magnets for Vietnamese honeymooners.
Halong Bay
---------------
Sure it is touristy, and if you take a boat trip you'll be among a flotilla of dozens of old converted junks, but Halong Bay still remains one of the most impressive sights in the world. Take the opportunity to borrow a kayak (all boats should do this) and paddle through the limestone karsts dramatically rising up out of the sea. Or spend the night on one of those junks and explore the caves hidden deep in the islands, pass floating villages and at night enjoy a sundowner on the top deck and look out for shooting stars.
Hanoi
---------
Hanoi is a city of contrasts with the wide, leafy boulevards lined by beautiful colonial buildings in the French quarter, the maze of narrow streets of the Old Quarter and the tranquil lakes. Wherever you are, the background noise is the buzzing of the motorbikes that crowd the streets of the capital.
Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City by train
--------------------------------------------
A trip on the Reunification Express is a must. However, the trains between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are certainly not express. It can take between 30 and 40 hours to travel between the two cities so best to do one section only. Popular is the 18-hour journey between Hanoi and Hue.
