Bluebells for Bernard
This film was made on 6th May 2010 at Hillhouse Wood in West Bergholt, near Colchester, England. It is a beautiful location but peopled by townie folk who think that dogs in a wood should be put on a lead, as dogs frighten away nightingales. Apparently it has nothing to do with the fact that these self appointed guardians of our nature are in the woods daily, tending their neat little paths and clearing brambles and setting up little seats and generally frightening wildlife away. These townies even advertise the bluebells in the local paper so that even more people come to the woods to see them. So, I shall continue to walk these open-to-the-public woods with my dogs, as I please, as people have been doing for centuries. Thank you Woodland Trust for allowing such access to your land.
