In the spring of 1994 of the 40th anniversary of the Sakura municipal organization, authentic Netherlands windmill was born in Sakura oldness and open space. Windmill produced mechanism parts in the Netherlands, and it was built by Dutch engineer.

ひまわりの里 - Himawari no Sato. The largest sunflower fields in Hokkaido. Apparently the different sunflower fields have stagger blooming timings. The annual one-month blooming festival is usually from late July to late August. It is a 1.5 hours drive away from Sapporo or Furano. Unfortunately, it was raining during our visit in late July.

The largest sunflower field with around 1.5 million sunflowers in Hokkaido. Every year there's a festival from late July to late August where a sunflower maze and activities are available for families.

Japan's Sunflower Town - Hokuryu in Hokkaido
Hokuryu, aka Sunflower Town, located in Hokkaido Japan, is home to a sunflower field with over 1.3 million sunflowers. Within the city, there are more than 3 million sunflowers. The field is in full bloom from late July to Late August. Truly an amazing sight!

2017 [World sunflower cultivation] Hokkaido Hokuryu Town 世界のひまわり栽培 北竜町 ひまわりの里
I went to Himawari no Sato in Hokuryu Town.
Here, a huge sunflower maze is famous, but since the sunflower maze has ended in a timely manner, I went to see the area of various local sunflowers cultivated by local junior high school students.
Timely, it is already over but it was good because there were still some sunflower flowers still.

時期的に、もう終わりかけですが、まだ少しひまわりの花が残っているものもあったので良かったです。

I went to Hiruzu town which is boasting of Japan's best sunflower.
When I went this time the season has already ended and the flowers of sunflowers are in a state like sparsely blooming.
As you go during the season you can see the beautiful yellow flowers of sunflowers blooming.
And you can play with the huge sunflower maze which both adults and children can enjoy.
In the neighborhood, there is also a park golf course so I think that it is good to exercise a little after having enjoyed the sunflower.
You can also relax in the hot spring after exercise as it is in Hokuru hot springs or road stations.
We sell a lot of souvenirs at the Hokuryu Road station, we can enjoy hotels and meals so I think that it is good to go and have a little time to relax.
日本一を誇るひまわりの里北竜町へ行ってきました。
今回行った時にはすでにシーズンが終わっていてひまわりの花はまばらに咲いている様な状況です。
シーズン中に行くと、綺麗なひまわりの黄色い花が咲き乱れている様子が見ることができます。
そして大人も子供も楽しめる巨大なひまわり迷路で、遊ぶこともできます。
近くには、パークゴルフ場もあるよなのでひまわりを楽しんだ後に少し運動してみるのも良いと思います。
北竜温泉か道の駅にありますので運動の後には温泉でリラックスすることもできます。
北竜の道の駅ではお土産がたくさん売っていたり、ホテルや食事も楽しめますので少し時間にゆとりをもって遊びに行くと良いと思います。

Summer time in japan means a lot of festivals is happening. And sunflower festival is definitely one of that I’ve been waiting for, since I love this flower so much. So I was so excited to go to Kiyose sunlower festival, which is not to far from my apato in Hikawadai. And, it was the best day, ever. i hope i ve got a chance to go to this kind of sunflower festival in other region next summer.

You can find a very beautiful view of sunflower field (Akeno Himawari Batake) which located in Hokuto City of Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan.
It is one of the great spots of sunflower fields with the Japan Alps range in the background. A lot of people visit the annual Sunflower Festival that takes place between late of July and late of August.
