Hingol National Park is along the Makuran coast in southwestern Balochistan. It lies within sections of Lasbela District, Gwadar District, and Awaran District. The Gulf of Oman of the Arabian Sea are to the south. The provincial capital of Quetta is approximately 717 km. The provincial capital of Sindh is 190 km to the southeast on the coast.
Hingol National Park also includes famous Kund Malir Beach and Princess of Hope. In the past due to the political situation, people didn't prefer to go there. But now things have changed and many people go to Kund Malir on weekends from Karachi and other areas of Sindh to explore the beach.
Hingol National Park contains a variety of topographical features and habitats, varying from arid subtropical forest in the north to arid in the west. Large areas of the park are covered with drift sand and can be classified as coastal semi desert. The park includes the estuary of the Hungol River which supports a significant diversity of bird and fish species.
Some 250 plant species were recorded in the initial surveys including 7 yet undescribed species. Many more species are yet to be collected.

The Hingol National Park is the largest National Park of Pakistan. It is located in parts of the districts Lasbela, Awaran and Gwadar in Baluchistan Province and covers a total area of 6,19,043 ha. It gets low rainfall between 100 to 200 mm per year. The Hingol River runs through the park and before disgorging into the Arabian Sea forms an estuary which provides habitat to migratory wter birds. It also provides habitat for a number of threatened and endangered species belonging to marine, estuarine and terrestrial fauna. The area is also habitat for flora suitable for arid and dry environments.
The Coastal Highway and the Bela Awaran Highway have enhanced the accessibility of the people of the area with Karachi, Gwadar, Lasbela and Quetta. However, the interior of the park is devoid of any road and other infrastruxcture. There is no transport service, and camesls provide the only means for mobility of people and commodities into and within the park. This has, to an extent, helped in conservation of biodiversity and wildlife in certain areas inside the park.
For long-term sustainability of biodiversity conservation activities, local communities are involved who live within or in close proximity to the borders as partners to serve as Custodian Communities (CCs). These communities are dependent on the park resources for their livelihood and survival, living in scattered settlements and not organized. To facilitate their active participation in management, both for watching their own interests with least and decreased interference in the bioverity and in becoming custodians of biodiversity conservation , it will be necessary to organize the village conservation committees (VCCs).Before embarking upon formation of these organizations,the implanting agency requires sufficient data on the local communities so that the present socio-economic status of the house holds and villages and their impact upon wildlife could be appraised in the beginning,and based on that, appropriatre micro plans could be drawn at their level and park management plan could be formulated with participation of all categories of stakeholders .it is found that available secondary data are not sufficient for use as input for intended micro planning exercise............ So i was offered for a visit to Balochistan with Wild Life Photographers, as the guy who has just heard and seen Balochistan in the pictures that was a great opportunity for me and for my DroneVlogs ;)
Balochistan is one of the most mesmerizing place i have ever been. It first welcomes you with some amazing beaches with huge and surreal mountain ranges.
The main reason for the visit was to locate the Asian Ibex and take some of their Shots/Vidoes. Asian Ibex is recognized as one of the famous animal specie there.

Unknown Tombs of Hingol – Hingol National Park – Makran Coastal Highway - Balochistan – Pakistan.
The common misconception about these tombs is that they belong to the soldiers accompanying Mohammad Bin Qasim in his quest to conquer Sindh in 712 AD.
As a result of this fallacy, a concrete sign has been erected on the south edge of the Hingol National Park on the Makran Coastal Highway that reaffirms this false claim.
In addition, there are several stories and myths relating to these tombs linking them to the Hinglaj Mata whose temple is just a few kilometres away.
However, none of the stories are true. In fact, at the cost of disappointing many, I have to say that these tombs are not related to the army of Mohammad Bin Qasim at all.
The style in which the slabs of these toms are crafted are similar to what we find in the Chaukandi Necropolis in Malir, Karachi.
One must bear in mind that the Tombs of Chaukandi graveyard are mainly attributed to the Jokhio tribe and some Balochis.
It is a known fact that Chaukandi tombs were built during the Mughal rule sometime between 16 and 18 centuries.
Moreover, Arabs never built such tombs hence the argument is compelling enough to reject the incorrectly associated stories.
The government needs to do a proper research on the origin of these tombs, which may be 200 to 500 years old and could be related to local Baloch population.
Until such time, the sign on the road should be demolished as it is spreading false information and misconception.

This place is around 247km from Karachi City Center
and it takes around 4 hours to travel by road
depending on traffic condition at exit from Karachi
and at Hub city area on way through Makran Coastal Highway.
There are at least +30 species of mammals, +50 species of amphibians and reptiles and +100 species of birds in this park. It is an open park, covers an area of 1,650 square kilometers and is the largest National park in Pakistan. (tripadvisor.com)

The Hingol National Park (HNP), established in 1997, is the largest National Park of Pakistan. It is located in parts of the three districts Lasbela (34%), Awaran (58%) and Gwadar (8%) in Balochistan Province and covers a total area of 6,19,043 hectare.

Tropical Cyclone Yemyin devastated the coastal areas of Baluchistan in the summer of 2007. The 4X4 Offroaders Club from Karachi decided to collect and personally deliver two truckloads of relief goods to the scattered settlements in Hingol National Park.

The flash floods that followed the heavy rains washed away in places the Makran Coastal Highway, which is a vital artery connecting Karachi with the major cities along the coastline in Baluchistan. The highway crosses the Hingol river at Aghore in the district of Lasbela. With the many tributaries feeding rainwater to the river, it swelled up to a point where it had completely swallowed up the bridge at Aghore, leaving settlements in that area marooned on either side for days. With links to the rest of the country cut off, supplies to the stranded people had to be air-dropped by helicopter.
Situated along the Makran Coast in Baluchistan, and occupying an area of about 1,650 square kilometers, it is the largest National Park in the country. A few Park Wardens were dispatched on camelback to inform the settlements scattered throughout the Park area of the group’s arrival a few days earlier.
Many of the villagers from inside the park walked for up to 2 days to reach the Coast Guard camp at Aghore where the relief goods were to be distributed. Approximately 450 families were provided cooking utensils and food rations that included flour, sugar, salt, ghee, tea, matches, and powdered milk. A medical camp was also set up and medicines for common ailments distributed for a a number of households.

In Pakistan there are more than 80 active mud volcanoes in Balochistan province. In the province's Miani Hor-Hingol Valley region, the heights of mud volcanoes range between 800 to 1,550 feet (243.8 to 472.4 m). The most famous is Chandragup. The biggest crater found at 25°33'13.63N. 65°44'09.66E is about 450 feet (137.16 m) in diameter.

Chandragup or Chandargup or Chandar Gup also known as Chandrakup, the volcano is considered holy by Hindus and is an important stop for pilgrims on their way to the shrine of Devi (goddess) Hinglaj.
