SAVE Salisbury Market !
ALL MY OWN WORK! This is my protest against the 'Salisbury Vision,' a coalition of Salisbury Business leaders who are trying to sneakily destroy the 800 year old Charter Market, of which I have been a regular customer every Tuesday and Saturday all my life, and my parents and grandparents before me.
Oh, they say, we have a wonderful vision of how Salisbury Market Place can work in the future, look at our slick pictures, doesn't it look good? Oh yes, it all looks very nice, but in the meantime, while the work is going ahead, the market traders - many of whom have traded on the same spots for 30 to 50 years - will have to move off, will lose their regular custom, and be forced to pack the business in. Salisbury is a traditional market selling all sorts of fruit, veg and meats, household goods and specialities, regular longterm traders you can know personally and trust, all year round in all weathers - the Salisbury Vision want a shrunken sanitised 'tourist-friendly market' that will serve no function for the community at all.
They are killing the market - Do we really want a new supermarket or coffee-bars in its place? Do we?

Salisbury Market Square - Armed Forces Day 27th June 2010
