The Waki General Community Center welcomed students from Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, to learn about a Japanese New Year tradition. Marine Cpl. Nunakuma Shrine(鞆祇園宮)
Nunakuma Shrine consists of two shrines which are respectively dedicated to deities of the sea; marine safety was obviously very important to Tomonoura's success as a port town. Nunakuma Shrine features an old noh(Japan’s oldest art) stage.

KiMiidera Temple, also known as Gokokuin Temple; is located in the Wakayama City （和歌山市） and is the second temple in the Saikoku 33 Kannon Temple pilgrimage in the Western Japan.

FUKUOKA - Nanzo-in Temple
Nanzo-in is a Buddhist temple in Sasaguri, Fukuoka. It is notable for its bronze statue of a reclining Buddha, said to be the largest bronze statue in the world.
The reclining Buddha statue is 41 meters long, 11 meters high, and weighs nearly 300 tons. The statue depicts Buddha at the moment of death, or entrance into nirvana.

Americans, Japanese celebrate the grand opening of Kizuna Stadium
NOVEMBER BASEBALL: Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni and Iwakuni City christened Kizuna Stadium in the Atago Sports Complex with a friendly baseball game between American and Japanese high school students.
Seigantoji Temple (青岸渡寺）, Nachi Katsuura Town, Wakayama Prefecture
Seigantoji Temple （青岸渡寺） is located in the Nachi Katsuura Town, on the Nachi Mountain. Nachi Mountain is part of the Kii mountain range and is located in the south eastern side of the Wakayama Prefecture (和歌山県）.
Seigantoji Temple has the distinction of being the first temple in the Saikoku Kannon Pilgrimage （西国観音巡礼）. Also, it is part of Kumano Sanzen, one of the three sacred sites of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage （熊野古道）.
