Things to do in Bokka no Sato 牧歌の里 Japan 2017.

Bokka no Sato, a large playground and petting zoo up in the Hirugano Highlands of Gujo City, has started showing some splendid seasonal shades. The area sees most of its traffic during its spring (outdoor activities, petting zoos, and fields of flower for days) and winter (lots of different snow-related activities) seasons, but it's quite nice in autumn as well!
The ice cream is delicious year-round, though - I'll guarantee that much. Word on the street is that they have it in pumpkin flavor!

ひるがの高原(Hirugano Kougen, highland) in Gujo was reclaimed land since 1940s. There are lots of special products which are made from local materials.
ひるがのプリン(Hirugano Pulin, pudding) is one of them. It is made from domestic soymilk and milk from local dairy farmers. It has been popular among a lot of people for 20 years.
They are sold at Hirugano Kougen SA. Please try it!

【ふるさと郡上TV】春まちにんじん

2mを超える積雪がある郡上市高鷲町「ひるがの高原」。この高原の雪の中に春を待ちわびるにんじんが土の中で収穫を待っています。秋採りのにんじんを収穫せず雪の下で越冬させるのです。また雪の残る高原の春。雪をかき分け一本いっぽん手作業で引き抜かれるこのにんじんは普通のにんじんとは比べ物にならない程、旨みが凝縮されているのです。糖度は10.6度前後までアップし栄養や香りも増して、まるでフルーツのような味わいです。生産当初5年程はまったくの無名で、あまりの手間に周りから厳しい意見もあったこの農法ですが、生産者の方々の「本当においしい農作物をみなさんに食べていただきたい」という思いが実を結びました。
このにんじんを生産し商品を作っているのが『株式会社ひるがのドリーム／有限会社ひるがのラファノス』。
丹精込めて育てた「春まちにんじん」を使って何か特産品が出来ないか？と試行錯誤を重ねて出来上がったのが『春まちにんじんジュース』です。1本720mlのジュースを作る為に使用しているにんじんは約1.5kg。その他「ひるがの高原　にんじんドレッシング」など、どちらも季節限定の春まちにんじん100%使用。春の訪れを感じさせてくれます。

Haru-machi-ninjin, the super sweet carrot, is grown in Hirugano highlands which has more than 2 meters snow in winter.
Why the carrot is so sweet? The secret is the way of the harvest of carrots. The harvest time of carrots is in fall in Japan. But the Haru-machi-ninjin carrots are harvested by hands in early spring. During the winter they stay under the snow. It sweetens the Haru-machi-ninjin carrot like a fruit.
The products of them are Haru-machi-ninjin ジュース(juice)and にんじんドレッシング(ninjin dressing). 1.5 kg carrots are used for a 720ml bottle of juice.
