Ogden is well known for Historic 25th Street, aka Two Bit Street, and is a great place for photographing portraits and street photography. Historic 25th Street features restaurants, art galleries, retail shops, and hosts community events such as a farmers' market, car shows, and more.
In this video Kiersten and I explore a small portion of 25th Street and one of my favorite places to photograph people. It's a great place to photograph seniors, dancers, fashion, and couples.

Worldwide on 25 is a yearly event that is hosted by the Historic 25th Street Association on Historic 25th Street. The event is held in conjunction with the Archery World Cup four day event. One night 12 countries being represented by over 300 singers and dancers parade 25th street with over 40 countries represented by athletes. The arrive to a party of culturally minded guests who become participants in dancing, signing and sampling over 30 of the areas most unique restaurants and wonderful taste. Ogden: Junction City of the West Documentary
Just weeks after the joining of the transcontinental railroad, the transfer point between the Union Pacific and Central Pacific railroads was moved to Ogden, Utah and no traveling passenger would cross the country by rail without stopping there.
This spectacular evolution in transportation ushered in a period of remarkable growth, and the cultural diversity and commerce that endlessly streamed through Ogden’s Union Station and legendary 25th street forever changed its place in history.

Historic Downtown Ogden City, Utah 25th Street & Union Pacific Depot
The history of 25th Street began with the opening of Union Station, at the west end of the street, during the completion of the First Transcontinental Railroad in 1869. Later, another rail line, the Utah Northern Railroad, was built between Franklin, Idaho and Ogden. The Ogden Union Station Depot became the hub for the Utah Northern Railroad, and served as a major railroad junction. The original structure of the Union Station Depot was destroyed by a fire in 1923.
During the early 20th century, 25th Street was a center of activity in Ogden. Home to retail shops, restaurants, ice cream parlors, hotels, and laundries, the street was also a common site for illicit activities such as gambling, prostitution and narcotic sales. Popularly known as ‘’Two-Bit Street, the area obtained such a seedy reputation that Al Capone is rumored to have said that Ogden was too wild a town for him.[1] An urban legend tells of a system of underground tunnels that bootleggers created during prohibition to move alcohol from Union Station to the Bigelow-Ben Lomond Hotel located on the east end of the neighborhood.
In 1954, 25th Street was cleaned up as part of a citywide crime-reduction effort led by Mayor Lorin Farr (a descendant of Ogden's first mayor, Lorin Farr
