Telc (Czech Republic) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Telc in the Czech Republic.
Situated halfway between Prague and Vienna in the south of the Czech Republic, Telč was once an important centre of trade and today is considered to be the country’s most beautiful mediaeval town. In the Great Fire of 1530, all of the city’s timber buildings were burned to the ground and in the years that followed a market was established which added a further vibrant aspect to the Gothic, Renaissance and Early Baroque buildings around it. Each building has a picturesque arcade of approximately the same height, and one to two storey buildings with three arcades line up like pearls on a string. In the mid sixteenth century the town’s former Gothic water castle was the property of the Lord Of Hradec. It was subsequently extended and transformed into a magnificent Renaissance castle. The Golden Hall is the castle’s most imposing room and fills the entire north wing. Its ceiling is decorated with octagonal coffers, masterpieces of the art of wood carving. Telč is an historical treasure and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Historic Centre of Telc - UNESCO World Heritage Site
The UNESCO World Heritage site of Telc is a gorgeous medieval city in eastern Czechia. Arranged around a castle and central market square, the buildings are beautifully well preserved and a fantastic example of what medieval town life must have been like. It was a wealthy trading settlement owing to its position on the borders between Hungary and Poland, and used that position to strong advantage over the years!

Historic Centre of Telč (UNESCO/NHK)
The houses in Telc, which stands on a hilltop, were originally built of wood. After a fire in the late 14th century, the town was rebuilt in stone, surrounded by walls and further strengthened by a network of artificial ponds. The town's Gothic castle was reconstructed in High Gothic style in the late 15th century.

Telč - A Unique Town Square in Southern Moravia
Telč, surrounded by ponds, is a small town in Southern Moravia near to Jihlava and not far from the Austrian border. Due to its rather unique market square, the historical centre was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1992: After a devastating fire in 1530 all the houses around its long urban plaza were rebuilt in a Renaissance and Baroque style and with arcades and high gables, and they are still well-conserved. Another important monument is the Renaissance chateau on the northwestern edge of the square. Various films were shot here, e.g. Werner Herzog's Woyzeck.
Woyzeck (Werner Herzog).]

Historic Centre of Krakow - UNESCO World Heritage Site
The UNESCO World Heritage site of the Historic Centre of Krakow is located at one of the historic and cultural centres of Poland, and for many years was the seat of the Polish kings. It's such a fantastic city, there's so much happening here and so much to check out as well! Come with me as I explore the walls and the historic Old Town, the forboding Wawel Castle, and the lively Jewish Quarter that was once home to a thriving Jewish community.

Litomysl (Czech Republic) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Litomysl in Czech Repuclic.
Samye Gonba is the oldest monastery in Tibet and one of the most important historic landmarks in Yarlung’s Valley Of Kings. A circular wall that contains a hundred and eight chortens surrounds the large monastery complex. The Samye Monastery was designed strictly according to the Buddhist principles of the universe and India’s Temple Of Otantapuri served as its model. The main temple in the centre of the monastery symbolises the mystical Mount Meru that is surrounded by four temples, each located in one of the four directions of the compass. The introduction of Buddhist monastery culture and the decline in the Bon system of faith with its demonic beliefs, gave Tibetan society a new structure. Despite its great age and dramatic history, Samye is still one of the most beautiful and unique religious sanctuaries in Tibet.
