Cooleemee Plantation
The 1800-acre Cooleemee Plantation in Davie County was permanently conserved by the LandTrust for Central North Carolina in 1996, making it one of our first conservation easements. The historic plantation is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been maintained since its origin in the 18th century by the Hairston Family. The site features over four miles of frontage along the Yadkin River, native hardwood forests, and several large farm fields. The plantation house is one of the best examples of historic Greek Revival architecture in North Carolina. Original production date 2003 JG Media LLC.

1820's North Carolina Plantation House + DJI Phantom 3
This old house is known as the Jenkins House and was built in the 1820's in Edgecombe County NC. Several years ago it was dismantled and is now being rebuilt and restored just a short distance from it's original location. The photos at the beginning of the video are some that I took years ago before the house was moved. I've been given permission to go back and get more photos and video as the house is completed.

Tallahassee's Roman Villa, the old plantation house with grounds.
Here in the deep south of the United states, here in North Florida, in the 1800s there were, and still are, many old large versions of Southern versions of Roman villas, the Plantation house. Often on 200 to 600 acres of land and many many slaves or hired servants took care of everything, in the house, on the farm.
Now this house is engulfed by the city of 300,000, the high school is behind the trees, the house is the Office of the city parks department. many rooms are filled with period furniture, to see, and weddings and events are often held here.
