Teaching the teacher at Mt Morris Stn, Charleville Qld
As our time here at our home is drawing to an end, this beautiful station continue to reveal secrets, almost as if it knows there is a change about to happen.
Part of Mt Morris history forever more, will be the numerous guests to the station.
Sophie, will be the last of those guests who has been helping the family with the education of its most precious gems, Linda.
On Monday 12/05/2014 was another special day. A beautiful sunrise again had us all in awe of every moment of the new day beginning.
But, today, Linda was to become Sophie's teacher and none of us knew it.
After the school day had finished 12.30pm Sophie's first horse ride on Bruce with all hands on deck to make sure this was a successful first time experience for Sophie.
From there, it was onto a guest horse by the name of Crusty. Crusty a gentle nature as well, had Linda on the front, with Sophie in the saddle. Linda was beginning to teach the teacher about horse riding, while Mum Jacquie rode Bruce and led Crusty with his special passengers for a special first time event out into the paddocks.
Sophie came back, then went for a ride with Jacquie on Bruce and she on Crusty (well yes, Sophie was still being led -- but had a wonderful time) saying I loved it, I loved it, how lucky am I.
The next big event, this very same day, was the introduction to another visitor to the homestead, a Woma or Bilby Python. These snakes are classified as Rare, Linda quickly teaching her teacher Sophie all about Woma's and to not be afraid of them. Showing her how soft they are, that they are a gentle creature, unless you are a rabbit of a Bilby of course!
So, a special thank you to a special young woman Sophie for becoming the student for the day, and engaging with your 5 year old teacher while inside the classroom you are the teacher, but outside on Mt Morris, here, is Linda's classroom she has taught you well
PS To Sophie's family and friends, we hope you enjoy seeing and sharing in some of Sophie's experiences while here, she really is a special young woman whom you should all be so very proud of - we are :)
