ON a fine September morning we take a walk across the River Liffey and over into the Temple Bar section of the old town center and up to Christ Church Cathedral. Then over to Dublin Castle, on to St. Stephen's Green, through Trinity College, and back to O'Connel St.
Dublin is an amazing place, full of history, architecture, and pubs. The foods not to bad either though hotels and accommodation is a bit expensive. I had several pints of Guinness while there but also tried several other Irish beers which were even better. As far as food and what to eat goes, my favorite was Irish Stew and also Lamb. I lucked out on the weather and our several days there were all sunny to partly cloudy but it can get rainy.
There's a bit more talking in this one and I apologize for the bumpy gimbal. It broke literally seconds after I pushed stop on the camera. I think I have it fixed now and hope to get a couple more towns and cities before we leave Ireland. I hope you enjoy this free walking tour Dublin.
Dublin, capital of the Republic of Ireland, is on Ireland’s east coast at the mouth of the River Liffey. Its historic buildings include Dublin Castle, dating to the 13th century, and imposing St Patrick’s Cathedral, founded in 1191. City parks include landscaped St Stephen’s Green and huge Phoenix Park, containing Dublin Zoo. The National Museum of Ireland explores Irish heritage and culture.
There are a lot of short tours of ireland that leave from dublin and other guided tours of ireland.
Headed to #TBEXIreland. Hoping TourismIreland will pick this one up and share it.

Dublin Castle TOUR | Walking in Dublin Ireland
Dublin Castle (Irish: Caisleán Bhaile Átha Cliath) is a major Irish government complex, conference centre, and tourist attraction. It is located off Dame Street in Dublin, Ireland.
Until 1922 it was the seat of the British government's administration in Ireland. Most of the current construction dates from the 18th century, though a castle has stood on the site since the days of King John, the first Lord of Ireland. The Castle served as the seat of English, then later British, government of Ireland under the Lordship of Ireland (1171–1541), the Kingdom of Ireland (1541–1800), and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (1800–1922).
After the signing of the Anglo-Irish Treaty in December 1921, the complex was ceremonially handed over to the newly formed Provisional Government led by Michael Collins.[1] It now hosts the inauguration of each President of Ireland and various State receptions.
The castle was built by the dark pool (Dubh Linn) which gave Dublin its name. This pool lies on the lower course of the River Poddle before its confluence with the River Liffey; when the castle was built, the Liffey was much wider, and the castle was effectively defended by both rivers. The Poddle today runs under the complex.

Horrific History of Dublin Walking Tour
Dublin likes to wear its bloody history on its sleeve. This tour charts the city's birth as a Viking slave port in 841, its deadly dance with the Black Death in 1348, the powerful Hellfire club that scared the citizenry, the gangs that ruled the city in the 18th century, and the body snatchers of the Victorian age. The stinking medieval streets infested by the plague, the cries of help from the hapless victims of the Liberty Boys, and more are all brought to life in this gut-wrenching tour.

This convivial capital is truly a fascinating place with warm, sociable people, lovely architecture, excellent museums, great pubs, varied restaurants, endless entertainment and the most popular attraction, Guinness, in the pubs and at their storehouse display.
We'll start out with three main areas south of the river Liffey: Trinity College, St. Stephen's Green and Temple bar. And then up to pedestrian shopping street, and of course out to the Guinness Storehouse.
Trinity College is one of the world’s great schools and a leading attraction, with more than half a million visitors each year. People come to see the graceful campus with its wonderful collection of historic buildings and gardens arranged in a harmonious setting spanning 35 acres.
We'll see Temple Bar, Dublin's most popular gathering spot. Temple Bar is the nightlife center of town, a great place for a stroll, perhaps have a pint and catch some traditional music.
Beer-lovers must visit the Guinness Storehouse where you can learn all about the brewing of that wonderful dark stout and enjoy some fresh samples. It is the country's most popular tourist attraction with 1.5 million annual visitors. The actual brewery is one block over, and is off-limits to visitors, but this impressive showcase presents very entertaining, high-tech multimedia displays that tell the whole story in a fun way.

Dublin Tenements Walking tour
With the loss of the Irish parliament in 1801, Dublin decayed and quickly became overwhelmed by the plague of slum tenements. By 1850 almost half the population were living in slum tenements, from Golden Lane to Henrietta Place. They would blight the landscape of the fair city for another 100 years before finally being cleared. On this one of a kind tour you will hear tales of tragedy and triumph from those that called the slums home. Gone but never forgotten.

Dublin Tales Walking Tours
Dublin Tales aren’t your typical Walking Tour. We do things differently!
A love of Dublin History and culture brought us together to tell the stories so often left out of your tourist handbook.
We are storytellers, but the stories we tell aren’t for everyone!
This tour is for people that love history, in all its darkness, humour, and majesty.
We focus on the stories other companies don’t want to tell. Whether that be the Women of Ireland, the Jewish quarter of Little Jerusalem, the muck of medieval Dubh linn or the architectural beauty of our Georgian past.
Check out our unique tours on dublintales.com, or join our public tours every Saturday at 12 noon from Fusiliers Arch.
