A short visit at the Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum. It's free and a great place to visit. Stop in to Anabella's Tea Room for a relaxing snack. Among the exhibits are the Neff Steam Buggy, a black smith shop, and an old school house. The displays in the main museum are regularly changed up and while I was there, they had an Inco exhibit.
Marine Museum of the Great Lakes, Kingston, Ontario | WPBS Short Flix
Explore a retired Coast Guard ship at the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes, in Kingston, Ontario. The Museum looks back at over 340 years of maritime history, from colonial battleships to modern freighters.
The museum displays a wide range of exhibits dealing with shipping, ship building, shipwrecks on the Lakes, and marine archeology. You can even discover what life was like as a sailor. One such exhibit is the museum’s largest artifact, the Alexander Henry, a retired Coast Guard ship built in 1959. Designed as a light ice breaker and buoy tender, the ship spent most of its career supplying lighthouses and placing buoys in the shipping channels. The museum acquired the ship in 1985. The ship is on display and visitors can wander through its many cabins.
