We run away to join the circus in all places Peru where two hundred kids from age four to twenty-one perform each July in a three-ring circus, including a parade through town. We begin our road trip in Madison, a classic river town that is preserving it's history and was formed seven years before Indiana became a state.

Madison, the capital city of Wisconsin, lies west of Milwaukee. It’s known for the domed Wisconsin State Capitol, which sits on an isthmus between lakes Mendota and Monona. The Wisconsin Historical Museum documents the state’s immigrant and farming history. The city's paved Capital City State Trail runs past Monona Terrace, a lakefront convention center designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
Madison is located in the center of Dane County in south-central Wisconsin, 77 miles (124 km) west of Milwaukee and 122 miles (196 km) northwest of Chicago. The city completely surrounds the smaller Town of Madison, the City of Monona, and the villages of Maple Bluff and Shorewood Hills. Madison shares borders with its largest suburb, Sun Prairie, and three other suburbs, Middleton, McFarland, and Fitchburg. The city's boundaries also approach the city of Verona and the villages of Cottage Grove, DeForest, and Waunakee.
The city is sometimes described as The City of Four Lakes, comprising the four successive lakes of the Yahara River: Lake Mendota (Fourth Lake), Lake Monona (Third Lake), Lake Waubesa (Second Lake) and Lake Kegonsa (First Lake), although Waubesa and Kegonsa are not actually in Madison, but just south of it. A fifth smaller lake, Lake Wingra, is within the city as well; it is connected to the Yahara River chain by Wingra Creek. The Yahara flows into the Rock River, which flows into the Mississippi River. Downtown Madison is located on an isthmus between Lakes Mendota and Monona. The city's trademark of Lake, City, Lake reflects this geography.
Local identity varies throughout Madison, with over 120 officially recognized neighborhood associations, such as the east side Williamson-Marquette Neighborhood. Neighborhoods on and near the eastern part of the isthmus, some of the city's oldest, have the strongest sense of identity and are the most politically liberal. Historically, the north, east, and south sides were blue collar while the west side was white collar, and to a certain extent this remains true. Students dominate on the University of Wisconsin campus and to the east into downtown, while to its south and in Shorewood Hills on its west, faculty have been a major presence since those neighborhoods were originally developed. The turning point in Madison's development was the university's 1954 decision to develop its experimental farm on the western edge of town; since then, the city has grown substantially along suburban lines.

Muslims in Muncie
“Muslims in Muncie” is an hour-long documentary film that traces a half-century of Muslims’ community building in Muncie, Indiana, from the 1960s to 2018, as told by community members. Featuring a small group that grew to thirty resident families and over five hundred Ball State University students by the early twenty-first century, the film highlights opportunities, challenges, and contributions in establishing an Islamic Center and making a home as American Muslims in Muncie—the city known as Middletown in the studies by Robert and Helen Lynd. The film draws on oral history interviews with twenty-two Muslims who represent a dozen nations of origin and are diverse in race, ethnicity, sect, gender, age, and profession.
Students in the immersive learning seminar “Muslims in Muncie,” funded through the Virginia B. Ball Center for Creative Inquiry, conducted this first oral history and film project with Muncie’s Muslim community in Spring 2018. Dr. Elizabeth Agnew, Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Ball State University, directed the project in partnership with the Islamic Center of Muncie and Ball State University’s Center for Middletown Studies. The full collection of life history interviews is housed in the Digital Media Repository at Ball State University.

A GROUP of Ku Klux Klan members says it is planning military style combat training for the FIRST time in KKK history - exactly 60 years after the birth of the African-American Civil Rights Movement. Klan bosses say an influx of military troops - existing members and new KKK recruits - will return to the US from overseas campaigns in a matter of weeks and plan to train the Loyal White Knights (LWK) faction, which has Klan members made up of men, women and children across at least three states. LWK leaders say they are preparing for a race war they believe will break out soon with the collapse of modern society, and will learn armed combat, hand-to-hand combat and survival skills. The controversial organisation is also targeting kids as part of a modern recruitment drive. Unlike members of the 20th century, today's KKK use social media and the internet alongside traditional methods like nighttime leaflet drops in local neighbourhoods to attract new members, including 13-17 year olds. These exclusive images show a recent KKK rally held at a secret location in a forest near Parkersburg, West Virginia. KKK expert Brian Levin says the main danger from the modern KKK doesn't come from the group forming an army, but from individual splinter groups with desperate new leaders trying to make a name for themselves. He said they can draw inspiration from extremist acts like a recent massacre in a Jewish Community Center in Kansas. Frazer Glenn Miller Jr., a former Klan faction leader, was arrested and charged in April with killing three people in the shootings, a 14-year-old boy with his grandfather and a woman.

How zip codes helped organize America
Zip codes, explained.
Subscribe to our channel!
Zip codes were invented in 1963 to help the United States Postal Service deal with huge increases in mail volume. The Zone Improvement Plan, or “ZIP” code system of addressing, organized mail delivery by dividing the country into 10 regions and assigning five digits increasing in specificity: from region to large sorting centers to smaller post offices. To promote the new system, the USPS released publicity materials featuring Mr. Zip, a cartoon character, and a song about zip codes from a band called The Swingin’ Six.
As the nation grew, the USPS updated zip codes by adding a four-digit suffix in 1983. The new suffix corresponds to specific destinations, such as one side of a street or a certain floor of an office building. Now, geocoding technology has created the possibility of even more specific addressing.

34 family members arrested in drug bust; $400k in cocaine seized
ELYRIA, Ohio - Elyria Police, Lorain Police and the Lorain County Sheriff's Department arrested 34 people—all related to each other in some way—in connection with $400,000 of cocaine seized.
The investigation started last year and ramped up in the past two months, culminating in the arrests Friday, March 13 and Monday, March 16, investigators said during a press conference Wednesday.
Authorities seized 3.4 kilos of cocaine, worth $400,000, five guns and $85,000 in cash.
The leaders of what's been dubbed the Burns, Milton and Tillman Drug Trafficking Organization by authorities are Jarvis Burns, 33, of Sheffield Lake, who paid for the cocaine, and his cousin Travis Milton, 32, of Elyria, who orchestrated large-scale buys from two dealers in Cleveland.
The large-scale transactions were at Burns' and Milton's grandmother Grace Milton's home on Tattersal Court in Elyria.
They bought $43,000 of cocaine from Christopher Craig, 43 and Bernard Washington, 44, both of Cleveland, investigators said.

Medieval America 27: Six States from St Louis to Fargo
In this episode of my trip around America I continue my journey north in the center of the country. I traveled into six new states, and cover 1250 miles in the course of eight days traveling ever north from St. Louis Missouri all the way to Fargo North Dakota.
We stop at several castles and a major museum.
With this video and the previous video (episode 26) I went from the New Orleans at the south of America all the way north to Fargo North Dakota bifurcating the country. There was a big swing in temperate and a constant uphill climb. I also noticed now in this video that the terrain is changing there is a lot more open space with enormous open fields and gentle rolling hills, with much fewer trees. It is clear we are heading toward the prairie states.

Madison Wisconsin: The Morgridge Center Also known as the Red Gym, It was built in 1894 and was used as an armory and gymasium for the University of Wisconsin. It was designed in the Romanesque Revival style.
Then West on Route 18 across part of Iowa which is one of the most beautiful drives I have taken. all the way to Mason city Iowa. A little over 200 miles.
Then North into Minnesota for Minneapolis, St Paul and St cloud for four castles:
The Landmark Center in St Paul- Completed in 1902 it is also in the Romanesque Revival style but notice how different it looks because of the different stone compared to the Red Gym, (This building is pink granite ashlar) It was initially used as the State post office, courthouse and customs house.
The American Swedish Institute (The Swan Turnblad Mansion) It is built in Chateauesque style which is a revival style architecture based onFrench Renaissance Architecture. IT was completed in 1910 and is made of Bedford Limestone. It is also known as the swedish castle.
The Stanford Newel House in St. Paul It The core of the building was built in 1864 by a man named Lasher during the Civil War using locally quarried limestone. It was purchased in 1886 by Stanford Newel and upgraded with the tower and battlements added.
The UMinn NROTC Building - in Minneapolis, it is the University of Minnesota Armory. It was constructed in 1896. It originally served as the University Armory and Gymnasium. Over the years it has served various purposes and now is the home of the University Naval ROTC and gymnasium.
Fergus Falls Minnesota for the Kirkbride Building also known as the Fergus Falls State Mental Health Hospital . It is purported to be haunted. Construction was completed in 1907.
Ending in Fargo North Dakota and Unicorn Park.
Next up I will be traveling west and covering some of the Prairie States.

The veteran broadcaster also hears the remarkable story of Linda Darby who, after escaping from jail in 1972, spent the next 35 years on the run - before the law finally caught up with her.

The impeachment trial is now in the question period for both sides, when senators submit questions in writing to Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. The chief justice will read questions out loud, alternating between the majority and minority for up to eight hours.
Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives in December for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Impeachment does not mean that the president has been removed from office. In the next phase, the Senate must hold a trial to make that determination. A Senate impeachment trial has happened only two other times in American history and once in the modern era. At the center of the Democrats’ case is that Trump sought to withhold military assistance and an Oval Office meeting until Ukraine announced investigations into former vice president Joe Biden and his son.
