Take a day trip with me to the city of Hitachinaka and experience it's wonderful summer festival! I saw お神輿 (omikoshi - portable shrines) and 台車 (daisha - floats) as I walked around taking photos!

The company is also planning to expand the area of Hitachinaka Works by approximately 29,900 square metres. The plant expansion will be done at the existing site of the company. The expansion will assist in machining of the components of large and ultra-large hydraulic excavators and mining dump trucks.

Hitachi Seaside Park is a public park in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki, Japan.
Covering an area of 190 hectares, the Hitachi Seaside Park features blooming flowers around the year. Hitachi Seaside Park has become known for its baby blue-eyes flowers, with the blooming of 4.5 million of the translucent-petaled blue flowers in the spring drawing tourists. In addition to the annual Nemophila Harmony, the park features a million daffodils, 170 varieties of tulips, and many other flowers. The park includes cycling trails and a small amusement park with a Ferris wheel.
Hitachi Seaside Park hosts the Rock in Japan Festival in August every year.
The nearest railway station is Katsuta Station on the JR Joban Line.

Hitachi Seaside Park, located in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki prefecture, Japan, next to the Ajigaura Beach, is a flower park and a popular tourist destination. The park covers an area of 3.5 hectares and the flowers are amazing all year round.
Every autumn thousands of Kochia bushes turn crimson on Miharashi Hill inside the Hitachi Seaside Park in Japan. We simply cannot help but marvel at this remarkable autumn view. It is absolutely wondrous to behold, a must-see for anyone venturing to Japan this time of the year. During the Kochia Carnival visitors can immerse themselves in the park's unique fall colors and walk amongst 36,000 red Kochia bushes and millions of cosmos flowers.

Bicycles can be rented for three hours at a time at three park locations for 400 yen
Visitors are also welcome to bring their own bicycles in for no charge.
For those who want to exert the minimum effort possible
the Seaside Train is a relaxing way to get around and covers the park in about 35 minutes.
With stops at 10 different locations, visitors can hop on and off at their own pace

In spring and summer, the park is open from 9:30 to 17:30. From November to February, the hours shorten to 9:30 to 14:30

Adults ¥410 and children ¥210. Annual passes can also be bought at the ticket counter for guests who wish to enjoy the beauty of Hitachi Seaside Park throughout the year.

In summer, a festival makes your heart beat. A vehicle called a float makes a big parade through the town.
and many men in loincloth sink a Mikoshi into the sea to pray for a good catch of fish.
Fireworks are indispensable element for Japanese summer festival.
In this city, three display of fireworks are held in each year.
There is a venerable shrine.
Sakatsuraisosaki shrine has many visitors every day.
The beautiful approach with camellia called JUSOU has been designated as a natural treasure.
When it comes to food, Hitachinaka- City is one of the most famous cities in Japan that has many great food products.
Have you ever heard about hosiimo before? This food is made by dried sweet potato. Hitachinaka is the largest producer of hosiimo in Japan.
You will be amazed at a rolling sushi restaurant, for every piece of sushi is unbelievably large and fresh. Tuna is especially popular.
You can try a characteristic noodle.
Stamina noodle is passionately loved by local people for its original sweet and spicy source containing vegetables and pork liver.

There are some places in this world we have to visit before we die. Places that are so unbelievably beautiful that we need to see it with our own eyes to believe it. This Japanese National Park in Hitachi is one of those places. Between April 15 to May 10, it becomes a place where the ground meets the sky – the Nemophilia flowers, also known as Baby Blue Eyes, bloom making a fantastic landscape that can't be compared to anything else on earth.
Hitachi Seaside Park (国営ひたち海浜公園) is also an amusement park. In fact, there are 7 different areas to explore inside the park, all for a reasonable entry cost of 410 yen for adults, 80 yen for kids.

How to get there:
BY TRAIN
From Tokyo, take the JOBAN LINE from Ueno Station to KATSUTA STATION (勝田駅).
There are express trains leaving twice an hour.
70 Minutes (express) approx. 3820 yen / local train 2110 yen
At KATSUTA STATION to the Park:
1) There is a local bus leaving every 15 minutes for 200 yen
2) A taxi will take 10 minutes and cost about 2000 yen.
3) You can also take Hitachinaka Seaside Railway to Ajigaura Station then walk 20 minutes.
The JR RAIL PASS is valid on all express trains this way.
For reserved seating, make a reservation in advance at the ticket office.

８月９日、茨城県ひたちなか市の国営ひたち海浜公園。１４回目を迎えた全国高校生アマチュアバンド選手権「ＴＥＥＮＳ ＲＯＣＫ ＩＮ ＨＩＴＡＣＨＩＮＡＫＡ」の野外ステージに、地元茨城県のｍｏｎｏｐｏｌｉｉの４人が上がった。
出演１２バンドで最後の登場。ボーカル兼ギターの滝口穂高君＝日立市＝が観客を見据え、言い放った。「一番かっこいい曲やります」
滝口君が作詞作曲した「スーパーロック」が始まり、長谷川源起君＝水戸市＝の軽快なリードギターが走り出す。馬場大輔君＝同＝のドラムと内山舜君＝日立市＝のベースがリズムを刻み、滝口君の声が空を突き抜けていく。
