Hoi An Street Food at Hoi An Night Markets - Travel Vietnam
What is a Taco Xeo?! How bad is Durian Ice-cream really? Did we just find a grilled pork shop? Join us and check out the amazing Hoi An Street Food at the Hoi An Night Market as we travel Vietnam.
There is certainly no shortage of choice for street food dishes at the Hoi An night market, with truck loads of vendors offering a range of sweet and savoury treats. We saw a delicious looking pork chop bbq-ing on a grill and thats how we started our Hoi An night market dinner, then from there we had a first for us in Vietnam, in fact a first for anywhere, we bought a Taco Xeo. Then we tried a few more things we had never had before and some we look forward to finding again elsewhere and some we definitely wont be eating again, as we continue our Vietnam Travel.
If you would like more information on our Hoi An visit, how we got there, where we stayed and other activities we did, then be sure to check out our blog here:
We'd love it if you liked and shared this video, so others who haven't yet heard of us, also get a chance to share in the experience. Thanks :)

We are Leon and Tash, a New Zealand vlogging couple who set off on an amazing Vietnam adventure as fulltime travellers, backpacking Vietnam. But we weren't going to travel to Vietnam for one of those ordinary backpacking Vietnam trips you hear about everybody doing, where they go for a couple off weeks and check out the beaches or maybe riding through Vietnam at such a crazy pace that they never get off the beaten track. No we want more than that.
Our Vietnam adventures start with learning the way of the locals, taking just enough time to figure out how things work, discover what the Must see places in Vietnam are and more importantly where Vietnam's hidden gems are...
To do this, we moved to Danang Vietnam. The plan was to spend 3 months living in Da Nang, meeting and learning from locals about the culture, the amazing food, their way of living and what places they would recommend to travel in Vietnam.
And because Danang is in the middle of the country, we hoped we might meet other tourists or expats who were having their own Vietnam travel adventure or were at the halfway point of motorcycle riding through Vietnam and hear from them, what places they thought we must visit in Vietnam. Also, as new travel vloggers, having a base there meant we could try things like doing Da Nang Vietnam travel vlog or creating a Danang Vietnam travel guide, before also taking on the stresses of fulltime travel.
Then in month 4, that's when the real Vietnam adventure begins. With our new list of must see places, we will head to Saigon and buy a couple of motorbikes. to start our Vietnam road trip!
Motorcycle riding through Vietnam seems like one of the most hectic, crazy and chaotic things anyone could do, but we can't wait!! And we wont be following a simple South to North / Saigon to Hanoi route, we plan on doing more like a figure 8, so that our travel in Vietnam will cover both the inland and coastal areas of this amazing country.
So can we still say we are backpacking Vietnam? Or should we be telling people our travel in Vietnam is a motorcycle trip through Vietnam? We're not sure, but what we do know is, our Vietnam road trip is going to cover over 6000km's from Saigon right up to the famous waterfalls of Ban Gioc near Cao Bang, round the northern point of the Ha Giang loop and everything else we can access in between.
So we hope you'll join us, the New Zealand vlogging couple, on our Vietnam adventure by clicking subscribe to join the Tribe and experience our travel in Vietnam..

Hoi An NIGHT MARKET - Vietnamese STREET FOOD
Hoi An Street Food: The Night Market is worth a visit. Located on the island of An Hội right across the bridge from the Hoi An's Ancient Town. Occupying Nguyen Hoang Street in the centre of town. Opens approx 5:00 PM - 9:30 PM every night.
Most of these vendors will try to overcharge tourists, but if you walk away they will quickly lower their prices.

Top 7 Things to do in Hoi An, Vietnam
We shot this Top things to do in Hoi An, Vietnam video from what has become one of our favourite locations we've visited so far. Hoi An is simply an amazing must-visit city in Vietnam. We hope this video helps you get a glimpse into as much magic as we were able to capture during our 5 night stay in Hoi An, Vietnam.
If you're planning a trip to Vietnam, it should include a visit to Hoi An Ancient Town and you definitely need to stay from day until evening because everything changes at night. From the glowing silk lanterns to the row boats slowly drifting down the river. This little Hoi An old town is simply charming. Just be prepared for the big crowds to pack in during the evening and night time.
Remember to pick up your tickets from the ticket stations located around the Hoi An Ancient Town. Once you pay for this you can visit any 5 special attractions of your choice.
Some of the ticketed attractions we visited in Hoi An Old Town were:
1. Assembly Hall Of Fujian Chinese
Address: 46 Trần Phú, Cẩm Châu, Hội An, Quảng Nam, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 7am–6pm
2. Japanese Covered Bridge
Address: Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai, Phường Minh An, Hội An, Quảng Nam 564010, Vietnam
3. Museum of Trade Ceramics Hoi An
80 Tran Phu St. | Minh An, Hoi An, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 7am–6pm
You should also visit Hoi An Night Market in the Ancient Town. Cross the Hoi An bridge and you'll enter the night market. Much more enjoyable at night with all the boats running along and lanterns fully lit up. It is a very touristy area though so just be aware of the higher prices and crowds.
Chicken Rice Place (not sure if the Google marker/address is quite in the right place, but the shop name is Cơm Gà Hiền and the photos shown are correct in the map link!)
Cơm Gà Hiền
593 Hai Bà Trưng, Phường Minh An, Hội An, Quảng Nam 550000, Vietnam
If you're looking for a nice beach to relax in Hoi An has you covered.
There are 3 main beaches in Hoi An:
- An Bang Beach
- Tan Tanh Beach
- Cua Dai Beach
An Bang Beach will be the most busy so try Tan Tanh or Cua Dai if you're wanting more space to relax.
We also went to an ancient temple and UNESCO world heritage site called My Son Sanctuary to find out some of the amazing history of the Champa people who once lived in Vietnam. My Son Sanctuary is a must-visit when you're in Hoi An, Vietnam especially if you love history and ancient ruins.
The World Cultural Heritage My Son Sanctuary
Address: Duy Phú, Duy Xuyên District, Quang Nam Province, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 6:30am–5:30pm

Hoi An Night Market Vietnam (ANCIENT TOWN) || Top Things to do in Hoi an Vietnam
Bringing my new travel series to Da Nang in Vietnam. After being unsuccessful to reach Ba Na Hills, I decided to ride to Hoi An Night Market the same evening which is approximately 27 kms from the city. I'd say its one of the best roads to ride in Vietnam with a straight patch run. Hoi An Night Market, occupying Nguyen Hoang Street in the center of town, consists of over 50 local vendors selling a variety of local snacks, trinkets, clothing, jewelry, and accessories.Widely regarded as one of the most popular markets in Vietnam, it occupies a 300-metre-long street that overlooks Thu Bon River and is illuminated by hundreds of colourful lanterns, making a popular spot for photography as well.

Da Nang is a coastal city in central Vietnam known for its sandy beaches and history as a French colonial port. It's a popular base for visiting the inland Bà Nà hills to the west of the city. Here the hillside Hải Vân Pass has views of Da Nang Bay and the Marble Mountains. These 5 limestone outcrops are topped with pagodas and hide caves containing Buddhist shrines..

Central Market in Hoi An Vietnam - Cho Hoi An
The Central Market in Hoi An Vietnam - Cho Hoi An
Shopping with the locals. It's great to get amongst it, shopping with the locals, wandering through the aisles. There are all sorts of goods for sale in this vicinity. The fruits and vegetables are of good quality but it's a bit hard to strike a great bargain unless you are Vietnamese or can speak the language. I'm sure the locals have prices for locals and prices for visitors but there's not a lot the average tourist can do, but it's a fun thing to experience the thrill of the chase for a good price! Tailors, shoe shops and much more can also be found around here.

Top 10 Things to do at HOI AN NIGHT MARKET | Hoi An Vlog 3
Hoi An Night market is one of the best things to do in Hoi An city. Even if you have a day in the city, the night market is worth visiting. With over 50 local vendors selling handicrafts, food, and a lot more things, this place will not disappoint you..
And the best part is that the market is set up every evening at the Hoi An ancient town and after 3pm, the area becomes a designated walking and cycling zone. And that means there are no motorbikes or cars to disturb you.
There are plenty of cafes and restaurants at the night market as well which have great deals and happy hours going on throughout the night.

Hoi An Night Market & Vietnamese Street Food
Location 1 of this video:
Hoi An Roastery Espresso & Coffee House
685 Hai Ba Trung, Phuong Minh An, Hoi An, Quang Nam, Vietnam
This is our favorite coffee shop in Hoi An. Most of their coffee based drinks are really great. Shout out to their barista’s. We keep coming back to this place every visit we did to Hoi An. We highly recommend that you try it too. Good place and nice staffs.
Location 2 of this video:
Hoi An Night Market
3 Nguyen Hoang, Phuong Minh An, Hoi An, Quang Nam Vietnam
As the usual night market, You can find many things here starting with street foods, restaurants, sweets, clothes, silk, jewelry, accessories, souvenirs, toys, personalized items and many more. Best part are the colorful lanterns from almost whole Ancient Area of Hoi An. They lifted the streets with their beautiful and calming lights specially beside the river. You can also ride a boat under the bridge while lighting up some paper lanterns. Hoi An night markets open 18:00 hr to 22:00 hr.
Location 3 of this video:
Dau Hu Tau Pho Tran Chau Cot Dua
Along Hai Ba Trung Street
An easy and quick snack along the streets of Hoi An. This sweet tofu (bean curd) dessert is also a must try. Elevated Tahu with lots of other ingredients. Something new for my taste bud.
Location 4 of this video:
Khong Gian Xanh
685, Hai Ba Trung, Phuong Minh An, Hoi An, Quang Nam, Vietnam
This is our second visit at this place. Server’s are very friendly, helpful and always smiling. This time we tried the Grilled Meat with Rice Paper (80,000 VND) and became one of our favorite. We also love their Cao Lau and Chicken Rice. Foods are so good we will definitely keep coming back.
Location 5 of this video:
Quan Binh
Along Hai Ba Trung Street, beside Buddhist Temple
Another dish to be eaten outside the streets using those little stools. We had this because we've been longing for rice grain since we arrived in Vietnam. Tasted pretty decent for a cheap price. But we will probably not repeat as we have found a better Chicken Rice that is in Khong Gian Xanh (location 4).
Please comment, subscribe and share.
Thank you for watching.
