Traveling to New Zealand, the Ferry from Kohokohu to Rawene
When in Northland I went on the ferry to continue my trip. Rawene is on Northlands West Coast Twin Coast Discovery route, state highway 12. North of Dargaville and the Waipula forest. South of Ninety Mile beach and West of the Bay-of Islands and Kaikohe.
Hokianga Vehicle Ferry Timetable:
The Hokianga Car Ferry leaves Rawene (the Southern side) every half hour from 07:30 to 20:00 and crosses to the rawene narrows (4 Km South of Kohokohu) in the North, linking state highway 12.

Work or play, come and view this Hokianga gem.
A growing families delight, or a retirees retreat. Private with northern panoramas over the picturesque Hokianga. Harbour with regular car ferry crossings, a sight to intrigue. Make an appointment to view this substantial desirable three bedroom home with internal annexe and second bathroom. Seldom do residential properties of this size and quality come on the market in this location. Elevated and elegantly positioned to capture the all day sun, opposite the hospital and a short distance from the village shops and other town facilities.
This home is an entertainers delight with a refreshed kitchen, new roller, filter and Holland blinds.
The carefully manicured landscaped grounds add to the vista.
Rawene the land of the setting sun awaits your visit and welcomes you.

Te Wairua O Hokianga-the enduring spirit of Hokianga
Nau mai haere mai. The Hokianga region of Northland is a deeply mysterious and exquisitely beautiful place with a strong spirituality. It has been calling people her for thousands of years. This video is a record of my attempts to explore it and to honour my (tupuna) ancestors. Nga mihi.
