The Teide National Park occupies the highest part of the island of Tenerife and Spain In Teide National Park comprises 168 higher plants are added. Of these, 58 are considered endemic Canarian plants. At present, according to the National Catalogue of Endangered Species, three plant species are in danger of extinction and other twelve in vulnerable situation. For many endemic, walls and cavities that form the Glens stones, they are a true refuge for conservation.
The similarity between environmental and geological conditions of the Teide National Park and the planet Mars have turned this enclave in volcanic benchmark for Mars related studies. The similarities between Mars and parts of Tenerife make the island the ideal place for testing instruments traveling to Mars and reveal past or present life on that planet. In 2010 a research team tested in Las Canadas del Teide, the Raman instrument to be sent in the next expedition to Mars.
To determine the gold wealth in mineral veins or veins of a small pan about 20 cm in diameter is used, similar to a bucket in Chile and Argentina is often called scow ; the moderately fine ore is ground, a handful placed in the scow, stirred with water, and gold sits in the background. This way you can calculate the amount of gold contained in the ore.
With a metal detector, a person can walk around an area of exploration and consistently below the surface. The sensor can give a positive measure a quantity of gold at a depth of one meter below the surface. As the device is easy to operate and highly mobile, this method of prospecting is very popular among gold diggers.
The minerals extracted from the veins or veins that have a good concentration of gold, especially free and granulated particles are mixed with water and ground in a stones called quimbaletes, those with a concavity that allows use as a mortar. Then mercury is added to form an amalgam with gold, which is separated from the rest straining through a fine cloth. Then it refoga or burning mercury amalgam to evaporate, leaving the gold in the form of balls, whose size depends on the amount of metal in the ore. This procedure is not only harmful to the miner who practice, who hopes of mercury vapors removed during heating, but also to the surrounding areas, as the evaporated mercury condenses contaminating land and water.
Approximately 45% of 2011 funded gold come from the People's Republic of China, Australia, the United States, Russia and South Africa. The deepest gold mines in the world are located in South Africa. There gold is mined almost 4000 meters below the surface. In early 2011 planned mining company AngloGold Ashanti already shafts in up to 5,000 meters deep.
The main occupations of a mining include drilling rock with picks and shovels or using power tools to extract the mineral, shore up tunnels with wooden supports to prevent its collapse, deploy waterways to transport stone or mineral load the trucks for transport abroad.
The work of a miner in the interior of the mine is hard. First, they are deprived of sunlight so they should illuminated by lights attached to their helmets. Second, it's a dirty job as mineral dust permeates the clothes, hair and skin of workers. The mining work requires physical effort and is not without risks. Often they must work in awkward postures or inclined to travel long distances or kneeling to reach the vein. Moreover, they are often exposed to landslides or rock falls that can cause fractures from small to death by crushing. Miners can also be brought rebanaduras and amputations when working with sharp tools.
The agreement number 45 of the International Labour Organisation, adopted on June 21 of 1935, Article 2, prohibits the employment of women in underground mines. This agreement has been ratified by 70 countries, 28 of which have reported.
