Hollyburn Mountain - #28 on the list... that was definitely the best day for that hike; however, the fog added a scary feeling to the experience. It was pretty cool to hike in those conditions for a change. Go hike!

SLIDING DOWN HOLLYBURN MOUNTAIN!!!
In this video my soccer buddies and I do some preseason training by hiking Hollyburn Mountain in West Vancouver. The view at the top of this hike is absolutely stunning! The hike was amazing, but the way down was probably the most fun for us. As you can tell we got down in no time. Full disclosure, the sign said no sliding with use of a snow sliding device. Which we did not use.

Eagle Bluffs Winter Hike VLOG #7
Eagle Bluffs is a hike starting on Cypress Mountain in West Vancouver. It's about 4 hours round trip or closer to 3 hours in the summer for the average person.
The hike starts with steep switchbacks and most of the elevation gain is done within the first 30 minutes. You reach a scenic lookout and then have a relatively flat wooded trail to get to the Bluffs. The trail is well marked but be carefull you don't miss the turn off to the Bluffs. If you continue the trail goes in a loop (the loop is 1km) so you won't get lost but you will go in a circle like we did.

Eagleridge Bluffs via Black Mountain Trail is a 8.2 kilometres heavily trafficked out and back trail features a lake and is rated as moderate. I went on a Wednesday so there were not many people on the trail. The trail is primarily used for hiking, nature trips, and bird watching and is best used from May until December. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Some parts of the trail were a bit muddy especially the second half of the trail so my Columbia hiking boots came in handy.
From the parking lot of the downhill ski area, walk towards the wooden sign board that has a map of the trails around the Cypress Mountain area. A new trail to Black Mountain was built in 2004 and more recently has had some changes made to the route. It is this trail we will follow to reach Eagle Bluffs. To reach the start of this trail, walk towards the nearest set of chair lifts and watch for a trail that leads into the trees on the left side. The trail will pass near Yew Lake so this can be used as a reference point on the map.
A short distance along the trail, go left at a junction, then a quick right, then another left as you make your way past the clearly marked trail signs towards the route to Black Mountain. The trail begins to climb as you ascend quickly through a series of switchbacks. Take some time for an occasional rest by looking back at the views as you quickly gain elevation through this steep section of trail.
Just after a steep hill that hugs the edge of a ski run, you reach a small lake on your left. Go right at the junction that lies just a few moments beyond the lake as the hiking trail gradually weaves through a section with a much more gradual incline before reaching yet another sign. Go right again and a short distance away lies Cabin Lake.
Back on the main trail at Cabin Lake continue to the end of the boardwalk and back onto the trail for a short 10 minute hike to Black Mountain.
NOTE: Dogs are not permitted at Yew Lake, but leashed dogs are permitted in the park. No fees or permits are required. There is fresh water available near the trailhead, but not during this hike. Road Cyclists love the challenge of biking up the steep switchbacks of Cypress Bowl Road - called the Cypress Challenge.
