Four great walks - North Devon & Exmoor | National Trust
From hill top to coast, here's some great walks inspiration in North Devon and on Exmoor:
Pick from sweeping sea views at Baggy Point or the breathtaking Exmoor scenery on the Holnicote Estate. There's Dunster Castle's garden walks with views across the Bristol Channel or the parkland at Arlington Court. These four spots have plenty of great places for a gentle stroll or a more challenging hike.
Every time you get your walking boots on, you help us look after the woodland, moor and coastline.

Today i decided to continue my quest to find interesting video locations on The WSR. I went back to Old Cleeve, a favourite place for many wanting a long panning shot. But this time i went above the village as high as was possible; up lots of back lanes until i find a spot purely by chance.....with a panoramic view towards Minehead, as shown in the first clip. As is normal lately it's quite breezy and i take 3 clips from this spot. The 2nd clip i took was of the DMU...iv'e left it out...too quiet !! The 3rd clip is of SDJR 7F 2-8-0 No 88 tender first heading towards Washford. NOTE: I used The 30X Zoom on The Panasonic as Blue Anchor is some distance away , there is an evident heat haze in the clip until 88 passes below Old Cleeve Church !!
My better half decided she would then treat me to lunch and afternoon tea as it was the LAST day i was 57 !! ...... We drive past Minehead and Porlock to The Culbone a very nice pub/restaurant on the A39 before Lynmouth. I have taken a 360' clip here. Afterwards we drive back to Selworthy to the Periwinkle Tea Room which is a place a few miles before Minehead, and is up a winding lane...but the views are spectacular from there. I took some footage here to give you an idea what Selworthy is like...Owned by The National Trust and is part of The Holnicote Estate. Well worth the visit for the cream teas etc etc.. I hope you enjoy a look at our day out, i had a great time...thanks to my wonderful other half for making it so special for me !!
Filmed on a Panasonic HC X800.

HF walks 3, Selworthy: Coast, views and villages. 17/7/19.
A splendid 11.4 miles of walking in North West Somerset.
After leaving the House, and crossing the A39, the walker is soon ascending to a quiet path leading to the village of Allerford. From here, it's a pleasant river side and wooded path to West Lynch, then on through Bossington to the stony beach, and so to Hurlestone Point. From here, it's a stiff ascent across moorland to Selworthy Beacon, today's high point at 308m.
Lunch is had shortly after, before the descent through Bratton Wood to Woodcombe and Bratton. Further delightful views across the valley are had walking past Little Headon plantation, prior to a section of quiet road walking in to the 'chocolate-box' village of Selworthy (National Trust). The views from exiting the Grade 1, white-washed, All Saints Church are wonderful.
Thereafter, it's a short walk back to the House to conclude an excellent day's walking that involved almost a 1000 feet of ascent.
