Rick Steves' The Holy Land: Israelis and Palestinians Today
More info at This hour-long special weaves together both the Israeli and the Palestinian narratives. In Israel, we go from the venerable ramparts of Jerusalem to the vibrant modern skyline of Tel Aviv. In Palestine, we harvest olives near Hebron, visit a home in Bethlehem, and pop into a university in Ramallah. We also learn about security walls, disputed settlements, and the persistent challenges facing the region.
Holy Land Tour of all the Major Bible Sites of Israel with Lovely Music and Narration
See the highlights of all the biblical sites in Israel in a peaceful, relaxing setting! Tour the Holy Land and see places like, Jerusalem, Sea of Galilee, Jordan Valley, Masada, Capernaum, and more.
Israel . . . Land of the Bible . . . Land of Faith . . . the Holy Land, revered throughout recorded history as the cradle of monotheistic religion. For a person of faith whose beliefs are rooted in the Bible, there is no place on earth like the Holy Land. In this narrow strip of land lies the source of religious belief of much of mankind. Here, amongst the barren hills and fertile plains, man’s spirit learned to soar and from here a new message went out to all the world: “. . . and many peoples shall come, and say, “Come, let us go up to the Mountain of the Lord, to the House of the God of Jacob; that He may teach us His ways and that we may walk in His paths. For out of Zion (Hill next to Jerusalem) will go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem (Isaiah 2:3,4).
The unique factor about the Holy Land is its special location in the World. Situated as it is, straddling the divide between Africa and Asia, the area has almost always been a battleground. Wave after wave of conquerors poured into it, anxious to control the strategic trade routes linking the centers of the ancient world. It’s not by accident that it’s virtually in the center of the world. In God’s master plan of creation, He decided to place Israel exactly in the center of His creation. Located on a tiny land bridge between Africa and Asia, there is no other way to get between the two of them except through Israel. It’s located on the crossroads of the world. Whoever wanted to trade between the two continents, or control the known world, had to conquer and control Israel. For this reason, there have been more wars and events that have taken place in Israel than any other country on earth. God positioned Israel in its unique location in order to influence the world and be on “Center Stage” so all of creation would know that He alone is God.
For nearly 2,000 years, Christian visitors from all over the world have come to the Holy Land, the land of their spiritual heritage. With Bible in hand, they have walked the places Jesus walked and prayed in the places He preached and prayed. For Christians, Israel is a place like no other. It provides them a one of a kind opportunity to experience the land of the Bible, to deepen their faith, and to be spiritually transformed for a lifetime.

WHAT TO PACK for a HOLY LAND TOUR in ISRAEL
Here's some packing tips for Israel along with unique footage of our 2018 Holy Land trips. Our May tour was a week long 'cultural' tour and our October tour was lead by Dr. John Dickson - 'The Origins of Christianity'. We had a fantastic time with each tour and would love to visit Israel again.

Israel Tours | Floating in the Dead Sea? | Holy land Tours
You got off a 10 hour flight to Israel, you're excited to Strat your Holy land church tour of Israel. Arriving at the Dead Sea, it is hot. really hot and you are ready for that world famous picture of you floating in the sea. You run to the water and dive in......
That is defiantly not the way to do it! as part of your Tour of the Holy land you are very likely to visit the Judaean desert and its surroundings including Jericho, Qumran (where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered), Ein Gedi and the mountain fortresses of Masada. Our advise for this day is, start by being prepared for it!! you may want to pack a small bag for this day and carry with you your bathing costume, body wash (soap) and even a small shampoo (from your hotel room), it may even be a good idea to carry a change of clothes for the day.
Being on a group tour of Israel, you will be very busy moving from one place to another and from site to site, but if you wish to experience floating in the Dead Sea, take time to prepare in advance. If possible include also a pair of sandals (not your favorite or expensive ones!). If you are the Tour organizer it is advisable for you to discuss this visit with the Tour operator responsible for your groups Israel Tour arrangements and find out if access to private bathrooms, changing rooms, showers and towels is included in your quotation. if not, We highly recommend you have this added in as the experience of bathing in the Dead Sea without an opportunity to shower and change, is not the best..
Most beaches along the Dead Sea are quite rocky and narrow and as you enter the water there are quite a few stones and rocks you will need to carefully maneuver as you get further into the deeper (waist depth) waters. This is the very good reason you brought those old sandals or sneakers, providing you protection from those rocks and stones. By this time, if you have any cuts or scratched you have figured out the experience can get a little sore as well, but don't worry about it too much, the experience is totally worth it!
As soon as you are at waist deep water, you are ready to submerge! however tempting it is, do not wash your face in the sea water and do not splash any of your fellow tour members or family members with the sea water! No contact with your eyes! Do not forget that. it is a very unpleasant experience and n to one you will quickly forget to have Dead Sea water come in contact with you eyes! any by any means DO NOT dive in!!
Submerge yourself in a slow motion as if you are slowly settling yourself into a chair. do it slowly and you will feel the water pushing your body upwards...... Congratulations you are now floating in the Dead Sea! Do not attempt to swim. in the Dead Sea you Float, not swim. and while you are enjoying this unique experience, remember, no water/eye contact and by no means, do not swallow any sea water which can be harmful to you. Getting that iconic picture of you floating and reading a magazine or newspaper in the Dead Sea is most defiantly a must, but here is some good advise: keep that camera even if it is waterproof, out of the Dead Sea or at least have not water contact with your camera or mobile phone. the very high salt concentration will cause serious damage to your electronics and even if you have a waterproof GoPro, make sure you rinse it very well in fresh water soon after.
Did we mention you do not swim in the Dead Sea yet? you Float!
Now that you have officially graduated as someone who has floated in the lowest spot on the face of Earth, you may wish to take a mud bath or cover your body in the black mud of the Dead Sea which is known for many of its skin healing qualities. before boarding the bus make sure you have had the opportunity to take a shower and rinse off all the oil, salt and sand. Washing your hair is also advisable. Have a drink of water. Hope you remembered to bring that fresh change of cloths and yes, you will notice the ones of your Israel tour group who haven't (those are the ones moving in discomfort in their seats).
We are sure that if you followed some of our advise you have had an incredible and memorable experience at the Dead Sea and you are ready to continue to the next site for this day be it Masada or return to you hotel in the City of Jerusalem. Once you are back in your hotel don't forget to take the time and upload those icon ic photographs to facebook, instagram or just share them with your family and friends.
If you want more information on visiting Israel and incorporating a floating experience at the Dead Sea in your group Holy land Tour itinerary, please contact one of our Tour operators at Immanuel Tour who are experts on Christian group travel to the Holy land and will be glad to help you.

Looking for a tour in Israel? Which to TAKE and which to AVOID (2019)
Taking a tour in Israel, whether a day tour or a tour running over multiple days, is a great way to understand the rich history of Israel.
In this vidoe I talk about all the different tours on offer:
what you can expect, what you should avoid, and which companies are out there – from budget to luxury.
Tour companies
I’m going to divide the tours into three:
The cheap options, which I really like
The mid-range, which are very common but which I don’t like
The high end, meaning private guides, which is the best option if you can afford it.

The Ultimate Guide to The #HolyLand / Top 5 Things to do in Jerusalem
Enjoy this comprehensive vlog on taking your own epic trip to the Holy Land. Plus see my top 5 things to do inside The Old City, and my top 5 things to do outside The Old City plus, the Good, Bad and the Ugly of everything Israel! Shalom!!!!!!
To meet up with private tour guide Abraham: Via WhatsApp +972-52-533-8797. When you enter the Old City via the Jaffa Gate, right at the sign for the Ramparts Walk, you will find the Jaffa Gate Coffee Shop which is owned by a very kind man names Issa. Have a drink there and ask about a private tour with Abraham and if he is not already there, Issa will call him to meet with you. Then you can let him know what sites you wish to see and you can make a plan and a price. Abraham is very kind and not greedy, so his prices are fair. Compare them to the prices of guided group tours and he will beat that price. Be sure to tell him you saw this video and you were recommended by John and Ruth from Las Vegas. He will take good care of you and your party.
I hope this video helps you in your planing of your future trips to The Holy Land, God bless and enjoy, this is a trip of a lifetime.

10 Things NOT to Do in Israel
Get more Tips here!
There’s no shortage of amazing things to do in this quaint country. You probably have your itinerary mapped out. But if you really want to make your stay enjoyable, you can’t ignore this 10 things NOT to do when visiting this sacred country.
1. Don’t Smoke on Saturday
Israel has been constructing its anti-smoking ban, so visitors should adhere to no-smoking signs and refrain from lighting up on Shabbat. If you must smoke, do it in private and far away from an Orthodox Jew who may find your smoking habit offensive.
2. Don’t Eat Without Tipping
In Israel, the waitstaff at restaurants and cafés don’t receive a salary, so they solely rely on the tips from generous patrons. Most customers don’t leave without plopping down at least a 10% tip before heading for the exit.
3. Don’t Skip the Flea Market in Jaffa
Located in the southernmost part of Tel Aviv, the port city of Jaffa has biblical and mythological roots. The flea market opens six days a week, and vendors sell everything, from antiques to handmade items. Don't miss these picturesque streets
4. Don’t Forget Orthodox Jewish Laws
Orthodox Jews follow strict religious and social laws such as Negiah (restricting physical contact between those of the opposite sex). They will keep a healthy distance between you if you’re of the opposite gender to avoid accidental contact.
5. Don’t Shave Before Entering the Dead Sea
This Sea is loaded with mineral-rich mud and high salt content, relieving certain skin issues, from acne to eczema and psoriasis. But don't shave or wax your body for at least 2 to 3 days prior. The salt content will wreak havoc on the sensitive areas, leaving you with a burning, tingling feeling. Ouch.
6. Don’t Expect to Eat a Light Breakfast
It’s customary to enjoy a really heavy breakfast, whether you’re in a tiny café or one of the country’s many restaurants. On the menu, you’ll typically find pastries, bread, salads, eggs, meat, fruits, juice, coffee, and tea. And by the time you finish your spread, it will be time for lunch!
7. Don’t Ignore the Memorial Day Siren
If you happen to visit on April 17-18 for Yom Hazikaron (Memorial Day), or on April 11-12 for Holocaust Remembrance Day, you’ll hear sirens ring throughout the country. When it stops, each person must stand up straight, and pay respect to those who’ve lost their lives. So, please, don’t ignore the sound.
8. Don’t Forget to Head Out to the Desert
The Negev – also known as the desert region of Israel – is loaded with natural wonders. Timna Park is home to acacia trees, herds of wild ibex, a souvenir shop, and overnight campgrounds. If you want to take a break, a desert excursion is just what the doctor ordered.
9. Don’t Be Afraid to Haggle
Israel is full of different bazaars and markets. In Old City of Jerusalem, prices are typically marked up, but don’t be afraid to haggle. Most sellers expect shoppers to bargain with them, especially tourists from Western countries.
10. Don’t forget to visit the Sea of Galilee
If you’re the type of tourist who loves staying active even when you’re away from home, this Middle Eastern country was made for you. The Sea of Galilee is full of attractions, including the hot pools near Tiberias, hiking trails, and swimming in the freshwater lake.
Where do you want to know what not to do in next?

Zahi Shaked A tour guide in Israel and his camera zahigo25@walla.com +972-54-6905522 tel סיור עם מורה הדרך ומדריך הטיולים צחי שקד 0546905522
My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this calling in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, glide over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and see the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.
Why You simply must choose a Tour Guide in Israel
This is the video from the homepage of
It describes the reasons why to choose an Israeli Tour Guide when you visit Israel. By choosing a Tour Guide in Israel, you will have a much better experience in your Holy Land and Israel visit. A Tour Guide will not only take you to tourist attractions but rather show you the behind the scenes of many sites. A tour guide in Israel, although will cost you some money, can also save you time and money, by knowing the fastest routes, best parking spots and easy gate through to places and that includes cheaper tickets to museums and other attractions.
If you're traveling to Israel, watch this short video and choose a tour guide for the best experience possible.
