A visit to a beautiful Cathedral in Burma.Surprisingly, this was one of the cleanest buildings in Rangoon I had seen of this age.

Holy Trinity Cathedral (Slideshow) / သန့်ရှင်းသော တြိနတိ ကသီဒြယ် (Yangon / ရန်ကုန်)
Holy Trinity Cathedral / သန့်ရှင်းသော တြိနတိ ကသီဒြယ် is the primary Anglican cathedral in Myanmar (Burma), located on Bogyoke Aung San Road (next to Bogyoke Aung San Market) in Latha Township, Yangon.
The cathedral was designed by Robert Chisholm, a Madras-based architect, in the Indo-Saracenic style to adapt to warm and humid conditions. Construction began in 1886, with the laying of the foundation stone by Lord Dufferin, the Viceroy of India, and was completed in 1894. The pipe organ was destroyed during the Second World War and could not be restored so an electric substitute organ was installed. The stained glass windows were repaired in 2003. The cathedral is listed on the Yangon City Heritage List. The cathedral is located next to a formerly associated missionary school, Basic Education High School No. 2 Pabedan (formerly Saint Mary's School).

The current Vicar/Dean, the Very Rev'd Reginald Bennett, is also on the faculty of Holy Cross Theological College, 104 Inya Laan, Yangon. The cathedral has historically strong connections with the British military regiments who were in occupation during the period of the British Empire. Here are several wall tabletures in memoriam of the deaths of many young members of the military although the well kept surrounding gardens do not contain any burials.

This is a combination of both video and photos. It will start with video of the outside and then transition to photos of the outside and inside, then it will transition back to video of the inside.
The first part of the video is set to music, it will return to it's original soundtrack during the interior video so you can hear the congregation sing.
I was there during the Catholic Church's 500th Jubilee that marked the 500th anniversary of the arrival of Catholicism in Burma. You can see a couple of the outdoor confessionals that were set up to accommodate the crowds.
Construction began in 1895 and was completed 19 November 1899 under a land grant from the Government of India, whilst Lower Burma was a province of British India. During the 1930 Rangoon earthquake, St. Mary's Cathedral suffered little damage and it withstood the Japanese invasion during World War II. However, the cathedral's stained glass windows were damaged during the Allied invasion of Rangoon.
