Holyhead Mountain Walk, Anglesey Coastal Path, Anglesey Coastal Walks In Wales, UK
Holyhead Mountain Walk was about 7.5 miles in distance. The terrain of the route was a combination coastal, scrub, heath and steep rocky mountain paths plus some short road and lane sections. Although much of the walk was on level ground or moderate slopes, the walking was challenging as the coast, scrub, heath and mountain were rough under foot and there was one steep ascent and descent. Route finding was generally easy with good paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. However, the section of scrub, heath and mountain may prove a little confusing at times, so map-reading skills would be advisable. There were 6 stiles to negotiate.

Places to see in ( Holyhead - UK )
Holyhead is the largest town in the county of Isle of Anglesey in Wales. Holyhead is also a community and a major Irish Sea port, serving Ireland. Holyhead is neither the county town nor actually on the island of Anglesey. Holyhead is located on Holy Island
Holyhead was originally connected to Anglesey via Four Mile Bridge, so called because the bridge was four miles (6 km) from Holyhead on the old turnpike Road. In the mid 19th century, Lord Stanley, a local philanthropist, funded the building of a larger causeway, known locally as The Cobb, it now carries the A5 and the railway line. The A55 dual carriageway runs parallel to the Cobb on a modern causeway.
The Port of Holyhead has a busy ferry port. Stena Line, Northern Europe's biggest ferry company, operates from the port, as do Irish Ferries. Ferries sail to Dublin, in Ireland; this forms the principal link for surface transport from central and northern England and Wales to Ireland. There is archaeological evidence that people have been sailing between Holyhead and Ireland for 4,000 years
With the opening of the railway from London to Liverpool, Holyhead lost the London to Dublin Mail contract in 1839 to the Port of Liverpool. Only after the completion of the Chester and Holyhead Railway in 1850 and the building of Holyhead railway station did the Irish Mail return to Holyhead, operated from London Euston by the London and North Western Railway.
Holyhead is the terminus of the North Wales Coast Line and is currently served by Virgin Trains and Arriva Trains Wales services. Virgin Trains run direct trains to London Euston and Arriva Trains Wales operate direct trains towards Cardiff and Birmingham International via Wrexham and Shrewsbury, and two direct trains per day to Manchester Piccadilly.
Holyhead Port is a major employer, most of the jobs being linked to ferry services to the Republic of Ireland operated by Stena and Irish Ferries. Other significant industrial/transport sector employers in Holyhead include Holyhead Boatyard, Gwynedd Shipping, and Eaton Electrical, with the last of these having seen many job losses in 2009.

South Stack Lighthouse | Anglesey - Using DJI Mobile Osmo 4K
All filmed on a Iphone 6s Plus Using the DJI Osmo Mobile.
South Stack is famous as the location of one of Wales' most spectacular lighthouses, South Stack Lighthouse. It has a height of 41 metres (135 feet). It has a maximum area of 7 acres.
Until 1828 when an iron suspension bridge was built, the only means of crossing the deep water channel on to the island was in a basket which was suspended on a hemp cable. The suspension bridge was replaced in 1964, but by 1983 the bridge had to be closed to the public, due to safety reasons. A new aluminium bridge was built and the lighthouse was reopened for public visits in 1997. Thousands of people flock to the lighthouse every year, thanks to the continued public transport service from Holyhead's town centre.
There are over 400 stone steps down to the footbridge (and not, as local legend suggests, 365), and the descent and ascent provide an opportunity to see some of the 8,000 nesting birds that line the cliffs during the breeding season. The cliffs are part of the RSPB South Stack Cliffs bird reserve, with a visitor centre, and bird hide at Elin's Tower. The tower provides a place to see Choughs, Peregrine falcon, Kestrel and various marine mammals like the Harbour porpoise seen at high tide, Grey seal, Risso's dolphin and Bottlenose dolphin.
The Anglesey Coastal Path passes South Stack, as does the Cybi Circular Walk.[ The latter has long and short variants; the short walk is 4 miles long and takes around two hours to complete. Travelling from the Breakwater Country Park, other sites along the way are the North Stack Fog Signal station, Caer y Tŵr, Holyhead Mountain and Tŷ Mawr Hut Circles.
The South Stack Formation was chosen as one of the top 100 geosites in the United Kingdom by the Geological Society of London, for its display of small-scale folding.

Had been waiting for the new release of Mike's new CD. Then day come it was here and I was off in the car and with my walking boots and mini player a box of butties and a slug of something hot to drink and away I went. This is a little ritual I ve always done when mike has a new CD, This is how I road test the sound in nature and wild places and I must say I was blown away by it remarkable album.....
Here is just a flavor of my day....
In the isolated Lleyn peninsula we can find a real ancient Iron Age hillfort connected to the Vortigern legends. Below the superb viewpoints from Yr Eifl (anglicised to 'the Rivals', but in Welsh 'the Fork') lies one of the most spectacular hillforts, Tre'r Ceiri. On a rocky heather-covered plateau below the eastern peak some 150 huts, that might have supported up tp 500 people, can still be seen clearly.
Locally known as the 'Town of the Giants', the walls are still more than 4 metres high in places - no wonder how it received its name. The hight of the walls might very well be caused by its isolation and position 457 metres above sea level, which has prevented all too much stones being looted, as was the case for so very many similar hillforts.
Bryn Celli Ddu - the Mound in the Dark Grove, a powerful and evocative site with the chamber concealing a single large almost cylindrical stone that to me seems to be apart of a petrified forest once, it looks like a fossil tree truck but also like the shape of an woman. many pagan's still leave an offering in ritual respect. It started life as a henge, with a stone circle with a bank outside and a ditch within the circle
The ditch is still visible, and was partially backfilled when the mound was constructed. The restored mound seen today is somewhat smaller than when first constructed. The small stones just visible in the foreground are the kerbstones of the original mound.
The white stone is a replica of the original, which should come back to north wales where it belongs, but sadly not, the stone was located once at the back of the chamber. It would have been covered by the original mound which was about twice the size of the reconstruction and did not have the opening at the west which you see here
The town of Carnarvon is situated on the east side of the Menai Straits, close by the side of the Roman station of Segontium, which was connected with Chester by Watling Street. There is said to have been a fortress here shortly after the Conquest, but the real beginning of the importance of Carnarvon was the erection of the magnificent castle there by Edward I., immediately after his conquest of the principality. The work was commenced in 1283, and occupied more than ten years. In 1284, the birth of Edward II., the first Prince of Wales, took place at Carnarvon. During the Civil War the castle changed hands several times; at length, in 1646, it was taken and held by the Parliamentary forces under General Mytton.
Portions of the old Roman wall of the city still exist, and numerous interesting relics have been found

Places to see in ( Llanbedr - UK )
Llanbedr is a village and community in the Ardudwy area, formerly Meirionnydd, of Gwynedd, Wales. The village originally grew around the slate quarrying industry. Attractions in Llanbedr include Neolithic standing stones; the Stones of Llanbedr and Bronze Age hut circles. The Morfa Dyffryn sand dunes and Mochras (Shell Island) lie nearby. It also boasts two public houses; Ty Mawr Hotel and The Victoria Inn.
The church of St Peter, after whom the village is named (Pedr being the Welsh for Peter), is a class II* listed building. A mile from the village is the hamlet of Pentre Gwynfryn whose chapel, Capel Salem, was the subject of a painting by the artist Sydney Curnow Vosper. The painting, entitled Salem, showed a member of the congregation, Siân Owen, in traditional Welsh costume and became famous throughout Britain in the mid 20th century.
Llanbedr has a recently reopened airport which, until 2004, was operated by the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA) and QinetiQ as a launch site for remotely piloted drone 'aircraft' for use as aerial targets by the RAF and other UK forces. Opposite the airfield is one of two NACATC units (National Air Cadets Adventure Training Centres) in the UK (the other being in the village of Windermere in the English Lake District). The airfield was included in the Snowdonia Enterprise Zone by the Welsh Government in January 2013.
To the north of the village is the smaller village of Pensarn, situated at the estuary of the river Artro. This is the location of Llanbedr & Pensarn Yacht Club and the Christian Mountain Centre, a residential adventure activity centre. Llanbedr railway station, formerly known as Talwrn Bach Halt, is a little out of the village itself and is served by the Cambrian Line.

Frankenstein Audiobook ; or The Modern Prometheus (1818) by Mary Shelley | Audiobook with subtitles
Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus is a novel written by the British author Mary Shelley. Shelley wrote the novel when she was 18 years old. The first edition was published anonymously in London in 1818, and this audiobook is read from that text. Shelley's name appeared on the revised third edition, published in 1831. The title of the novel refers to the scientist, Victor Frankenstein, who learns how to create life and creates a being in the likeness of man, but larger than average and more powerful. In modern popular culture, people have tended to refer to the Creature as Frankenstein (especially in films since 1931), despite this being the name of the scientist, and the creature being unnamed in the book itself. Frankenstein is a novel infused with elements of the Gothic novel and the Romantic movement. It was also a warning against the over-reaching of modern man and the Industrial Revolution, alluded to in the novel's subtitle, The Modern Prometheus. The story has had an influence across literature and popular culture and spawned a complete genre of horror stories and films. It is arguably considered the first fully-realised science fiction novel and raises many issues still relevant to today's society. (Summary from wikipedia.org, adapted by Cori Samuel.)
