Hi I'm Alex! I started writing a blog back in 2013 as a way to capture my thoughts, feelings and emotions as I married my childhood sweetheart and we had our first child. I'm now a Mum of two little boys (Ethan & Logan) and I've continued writing, photographing and videoing ever since as a way to remember all of the little details that make up this amazing journey of Motherhood.
Holywell Bay
First impressions of Holywell Bay can be deceptive as the main beach is obscured by sand dunes as you approach. It is only upon scaling or walking around these dunes that the expanse of golden sand stretching almost a mile to the north-east becomes apparent.
Being located close enough, but not too close to Newquay is a big factor in Holywell’s popularity. Whilst it does get busy in the summer, it has a family friendly feel about it and an unspoilt rural backdrop. With seasonal lifeguards on hand, sand dunes to explore, rockpools and a small stream meandering down the beach Holywell Bay is great for kids. There are plenty of facilities close to the beach in the small village including ample car-parking. For golf enthusiasts there is an 18 hole golf course overlooking the beach.
Beach Retreat, Holywell Bay, Cornwall
Beach Retreat is ideally situated for a relaxing family holiday by the sea. The house is so close to the sand dunes and beach that you don't have to find a place to park the car or even cross a road to get your feet wet! Holywell Bay is one of the gems of the north Cornish coast with a really family friendly beach, some fantastic walking, a golf course nearby and one of the best surfing waves in Cornwall.

Best Surfing Beach Newquay, Holywell Bay. DJI Phantom GoPro
Flight around Holywell Bay, Newquay with a Phantom and a trip out around the rocks. One of my favorite beaches.
St Cuberts Holy Well, (Holywell bay) Cubert, nr Newquay, Cornwall
Didn't have my map to find this, knew it was on a golf course, but didn't know about the massive holiday park, Trevarnick. You can reach this well from Holywell beach (where exists another holy well in a cave, will go there again with some lighting), across the dunes into the golf course, though I came from the village of Cubert. Near the entrance to Trevarnick is a public footpath that runs down through the holiday village (literally through the shop and cafe area, got some strange looks), down to the fishing ponds. Then turn left along the ponds (keeping ponds on the left, if you haven't gone on the path through the caravan area) and further on to another pond on the golf course, down into a little wooded area (if you follow the path to avoid annoying the golfers, down some steps into the wooded area), you'll see another pond on the left and to the right, an beautiful entrane, behind is the well (or cave as it was described by the guy in the fishing tackle and bait shop by the first pond).
Holywell Bay to Newquay, 22/7/17.
Around 7.5 miles walking along the South West Coast Path between Holywell and Newquay, North Cornwall.
Getting the bus from Newquay, the walker soon arrives at the National Trust's Holywell Bay, where an early cuppa is taken due to a rain shower that wasn't forecast; micro-climates are quite common on British climates. Another rain-break is required further into the walk as well, which is quite unusual for this walker...
Despite the mixed weather, a lovely walk, incorporating some great views, a short ferry ride and then the bustle of Newquay.
N.B. Some wind interference on commentary.
Camping Cornwall - Trevornick Holiday Park, Holywell Bay Beach
Life's a beach at Trevornick Holiday Park in Cornwall. With a mile long stretch of golden sand, and protected by the National Trust and the RNLI, Holywell Bay beach is both beautiful and safe -- and right on our doorstep.
Walk from your camping pitch across the sandy dunes, or stroll down the road to Holywell Bay beach, one of the brightest jewels in Cornwall's coastal crown. Holywell Bay is National Trust protected, surrounded by sand dunes with rock pools for paddling or rolling waves for surfing.
Just a short drive (or slightly longer walk) away Crantock beach lies to the East and Perranporth to the West. Both beaches boast beautiful, unspoilt sandy stretches with estuary and grasslands.
This relatively small stretch of Cornwall's coastline is hard to beat for both beauty, safety and diversity, perfect for your camping holiday.
Springtide, Holywell Bay, Cornwall
Springtide is a beautifully presented, bright, spacious property that backs on to the beach and sand dunes of Holywell Bay - a perfect spot for a beach holiday!

Parkdean Resorts Holywell Bay Accommodation Tour // (AD) // #BestOfBritain
We were invited along my Parkdean Resorts to visit Holywell Bay Holiday Park and to find some of the Best Of Britain places.
UK holidays are such a great way to travel as a family, you can explore the country we live in and get away from the hassle of daily life. When you're at home it's so easy to just quickly get that job done, but when you step away from the house you instantly switch off.
So with this in mind, we were invited by Parkdean Resorts to visit one of their holiday parks in Newquay and review all the exciting things to do in the area for their Best Of Britain campaign. We had a fantastic weekend together, visited some stunning places and had a great family weekend.
I have put together a quick accommodation tour of the Trewen Caravan at Holywell Bay Holiday Park but head over to my blog post to see more of the park and also you can check out all the fantastic things we did in the area by watching my Newquay video
