Tucker is currently an America's Favorite Trail Horse Finalist.
Tucker was chosen as one of 100 finalists from a field of 1,000 across the United States. Auditions were held in April. Filming of the finals took place the first part of May in Blanco, Texas at the Franklin Family Ranch.
Description Filming of the 100 finalists are being edited into 10 episodes of the reality TV show, America's Favorite Trail Horse which will be aired on HRTV (available on Dish - Channel 404, Cable - check your listings, and online at hrtv.com). Episodes are expected to start in September, 2011. Voting on line will be available for the week between each episode. Each episode will have one winner determined by the number of votes received. The ten winners of the epiodes will have a ride-off in episode 11, where the top three high-vote getters will be crowned as America's Favorite Trail Horse(s).
General Information: ACTHA (American Competitive Trail Horse Association) is the organizer/sponsor of this reality show. Many clinicians were present at the filming and will appear in the episodes critiquing and coaching the participants during their filming sessions. Filming consisted of three day's events; the first day was a 3-mile/3-obstacle ride out in the open country, the second day was a prescribed obstacle course in a confined area called the Obstacle Garden, the third day was a free-style in the Obstacle Garden.
Mission ACTHA's purpose in promoting the reality show is to promote the trail horse in general and to get more people back in the saddle and/or enjoying the company of equines so that more horses have jobs. The goal is to reduce the number of wild horses and rescue horses in a natural, useful manner.
Awards The winner of each episode will receive $5,000. The top three overall winners will recieve cash awards of $25,000, $15,000 and $10,000 respectively.
