Extremely Rare Pink Dolphins In Hong Kong - DOLPHINWATCH In Lantau
Pink dolphins in Hong Kong...let's check it out! Hong Kong Dolphinwatch was the first eco-tour operator running trips to see Hong Kong's Indo-Pacific humpback, or pink, dolphins when it was founded back in 1995. Today it continues to be the only company recognised by the Hong Kong Government and the Hong Kong Tourism Board as a true eco-tour operator. Join one of the tours to head out to the seas around Lantau and seek out the elusive but beautiful Chinese white dolphin.

BEST theme park in HONG KONG | OCEAN PARK VLOG 2019
If you’re ever in Hong Kong, one of the top things I’d recommend for you to do is to go visit Ocean Park, one of the best theme parks in Hong Kong. I know, I know, you’ve probably got your eye on Disneyland Hong Kong… but the thing is, if you had to pick one between the two, I’d definitely recommend you choose Ocean Park.
You can go to Disneyland in other countries but Ocean Park really is quite unique. its a marine-life theme park with focus on animals, theme park rides and cool shows. AND it doesn't really matter how old you are, you'd still enjoy it.
Oh one thing to note though, try to bring your own food & drinks to Ocean Park because the food there is pricey.
I filmed this Ocean Park Vlog when i went to Hong Kong in Feb 2019 - hope you like it !
Tickets are $480 for adults (12 years +) and $240HKD for kids (3-11years).
Extract from the Hong Kong Tourism Board:
Opened in 1977, Ocean Park Hong Kong is a marine-life theme park featuring animals, thrill rides and shows. It is located on the southern side of Hong Kong Island, with an area of more than 915,000 square metres. The two major attractions areas, the Waterfront and the Summit, are connected by the Cable Car and Ocean Express funicular train.

ABOUT ME:
I'm a millennial who quit my corporate job in banking & finance in December 2018 to live life the way I want, everyday. I knew something wasn’t right when days all started to blur together and nothing stood out.
I want to see different places. I want to experience new things. I want to meet new people. I want to do something for the first time again.
This is the beginning of my journey to doing that, and to figuring out how I can generate income that will allow me to live life my way, every day.

Pink Dolphins Are Real—and Disappearing From Hong Kong | National Geographic
Pink dolphins in Hong Kong's harbor? Yes. Chinese white dolphins to be exact—though they're known for their pink color, derived from a network of blood vessels close to the surface of their skin. Conservationists warn that the dolphins are at risk of vanishing from Hong Kong waters, with the local population declining by more than half over the past decade, to around 60 individuals today. The decline of these appealing marine mammals is largely attributed to water pollution and the habitat loss that has come with expanded development in and along the harbor.

Ocean Park Hong Kong
Ocean Park Hong Kong is a wonderful and unique theme park which encompasses an amusement park, a marine life park, a zoo and an oceanarium. As such, it has something to offer to everyone in the family.
Ocean Park is divided into two areas: The Waterfront and The Summit, which are linked by a Cable Car system and an Ocean Express funicular train system.
My day in Ocean Park was most enjoyable as I could catch the antics of playful sea lions, enjoyed some thrilling rides, gawked in wonder at the amazing ocean denizens residing in the Grand Aquarium, and watched a wonderful dolphin show - all in the same day!
Ocean Park is a theme park like no other and I would encourage you to spend a wonderful day there when you are in Hong Kong.

Soon All Of Hong Kong's Dolphins Will Be Dead
The Hong Kong Dolphin Conservation Society sends researchers out almost every day, no matter the weather, to search the city's waters for an ever-shrinking population of dolphins. Their relentless work matters, not just to keep a few individual animals alive, but as a test of whether Hong Kongers can have more of a say in how their city progresses. The Sousa chinesis are more commonly known as pink dolphins due to their pink bubblegum-like coloring in adulthood. Pink dolphins have lived in the waters around Hong Kong for hundreds of years, as the human population grew from the low thousands in the 1600s to the millions today. Today, there are an estimated 10,000 pink dolphins globally, with the largest population, around 1,200, in the Pearl River Delta region. The HKDCS estimates 47 dolphins currently make the city's waters their home. More than 110 dolphins have washed up on Hong Kong's beaches in the last four years, nearly all of them dead and in a state of decomposition. The drop in numbers for Hong Kong dolphins may be due in part to them shifting their habitat to Chinese waters, something that is predicted it will be reversed once conditions in the city improve again.

Dead dolphin: Chinese white dolphin corpse floats ashore in Hong Kong
This Chinese white dolphin was found yesterday washed up on the coast in Hong Kong. This dead dolphin is 2.5 metres long.
It was was so badly decomposed that its organs were bursting out of its body due to gas. Experts believe it was dead for a while before washing up, so the dolphin’s corpse was sent to cetacean biologists for investigation.
This is the 36th dead dolphin found on Hong Kong’s coast this year. The reason behind the dolphin die-off is still unknown.

Pink Dolphin Watching Near Lantau Island, Hong Kong (Dolphinwatch Tour)
This video of the Pink Dolphins was taken during a Dolphinwatch tour in Hong Kong near Lantau Island, during August 2010. We were lucky and had repeated sightings of a pod of Pink Dolphins (Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphins). On several occasions they came right up to our boat. What a fun day!
