this is amazing place to visit.

Hoodoos are found mainly in the desert in dry, hot areas.
Rosedale Suspension Bridge Rosedale was home to a variety of coal mines before their closure in the 1970s.[6] The 117 meters (384 ft) long Star Mine Suspension Bridge built in 1931 over the Red Deer River used to connect the settlement with coal mines established on the opposite side of the river.
Horseshoe Canyon gets its name from its horseshoe shape, defined by two coulees the flow into the Kneehill Creek, a tributary of the Red Deer River. The canyon's two arms are approximately 5 km long each, extending from Highway 9 to Kneehill Creek, at two former mining communities of Dunphy and Gatine.

A brief description of hoodoos in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada
The Hoodoos of Drumheller Valley – Drumheller, Alberta, Canada
Visit to the Hoodoos of Drumheller Valley – Drumheller, Alberta, Canada on July 17, 2018.
Hoodoos, naturally eroded land formations, stand 20 feet tall in the Canadian badlands of the Drumheller Valley located a bit above 100km from Calgary.
The hoodoos (also known as fairy chimneys) are naturally shaped by wind and water, and carved over millions of years into pillar-like shapes. These are made of soft sandstone, generally topped with a harder rock “cap,” slowing the process of complete disintegration.

Hoodoos---The Drumheller area hoodoos are striking geological formations that have become internationally recognized icons of Alberta's badlands. The distinctive appearance of the hoodoos was created through the deposit of materials during the Cretaceous Period between 70 and 75 million years ago.
Today we know the rocks were created by erosion, shaped by wind and water. These hoodoos (also called a tent rock, fairy chimney or earth pyramid) have been carved over millions of years into pillar-like shapes. They’re formed from soft sandstone, and most are capped with a harder rock which sits on top like a hat. The cap rock slows the process of complete erosion by keeping them from disintegrating at the same speed as the surrounding sandstone. The sandstone structures will ultimately be worn away and break, and the harder top rock will eventually come crashing down.

Unique landscape featuring pillars and rock caps. These are located in Drumheller, and are quite an amazing visit.
A hoodoo can also be called a fairy chimney. Really cool place to visit.
Drumheller Hoodoos
The Drumheller Hoodoos are a great tourist attraction. Very interesting to see. Bring your camera, lunch and kids. Eat at the campsite, (washroom facilities included), and take your kids for a hike.

The view from the top of the Hoodoos. Stunning views but I was expecting something like you see in Arizona. Never the less - can you believe this is in Canada? Beautiful.
