Mexico Yellowfin Tuna & White Marlin
We had a great 3 days trip to Mexico with Captain Greg from High-Spirited Adventures.
Captain Greg contacted us to come check out the operations and see the potential, I posted the open spot on Facebook and Bryan and Bogdan immediately joined me on the trip.
We had a direct flight to Puerto Vallarta from Newark, easy access, fast clearance at immigration and customs and we were welcomed by Captain Greg at the airport after 4 hours and 50 minutes of flying.
On the first day we ran close to shore and we encountered 9 marlin on topwater were we sight casted to them and had them interested with our presentation, Bogdan succeeded on getting a strike and hooked his first ever topwater Blue Marlin, the fish took a Tackle House Britt 120mm in green.
We saw lots of life and tuna busting, and as the day progress the bite started to get better and better. We had multiple shots at them and we ended the day peacefully after spending hours on the water.
On the 2nd day the weather eased down a bit and we made the run to the Tres Maria Island, the area was dead with no life at all, couple of birds here and there looking around.
We saw a charter boat drifting by us over and over again but we did not see them catch a single fish, the only fish we saw was caught from a local boat that was drifting a kite, it might be that the area have been hammered badly since they open it to the public.
With all that being said we did not stop casting and we did drifts after drifts casting 200g popper hoping to raise a monster from deep under with no success.
Sure enough that decision was a good one, upon our arrival to the fishing ground we started seeing tuna on topwater and as the day progress the bite got better and better to the point where we were surrounded by yellowfin tuna all round us and under us, the ocean erupted in anger with fish busting in every direction with sizes ranging from 40lb to 200lb class fish.
We had multiple shots on topwater and on the jig, the CB One jigs such as the Quick Zero1 & Zero1 did most of the damage where Bryan get smashed with a descent fish and landed a butter ball solo.
Bogy had an amazing memorable explosion on his Hammerhead Cherry Pai 200 in squid color, we thought for a second that a meteoroid just hit the water.
The Race Point 250 did the magic not to mention the way bogy handle the fight and the best gaff man onboard ???? congrats on that beautiful fish Bogdan, awesome work!!
I will summarize that great trip and let the pictures do a bit of justice and lastly I will take this opportunity to thank Captain Greg from High Spirited Adventures and his wife Kristin for the hospitality and the great service, we will be back soon.

576 lb 1st place Marlin Puerto Vallarta Mexico PV Sportfishing August 2013 team My Marlin
Captain Steve Torres win 1st place Marlin at the 7th international Marlin and Tuna tournament in Puerto Vallarta
Mexico.
We had a great time this last weekend even though no one caught any Tuna or Dorado I think every boat caught a Marlin at El Banco.
Day 1 We departed from paradise village at 7am and reached the bank a little after 9am. The team caught live bait and We started trolling
the fishing was very slow for us all day just a small Sailfish nibble in the morning but then a little after 3pm We had our first Marlin strike then another and just like that We had a double hook up. But since it was already after 3 pm and We needed to be back at the dock by 6
pm We did not have time to tangle with both so the crew let 1 go and We started Reeling in the bigger Blue 1 hour 10 minutes later the blue Marlin was on the boat and We were racing back hoping to make the 50 + mile ride back before 6pm Well captain Steve did it again
and We were back at the dock with 3 minutes to spare. The Marlin weighed in at 576 lbs taking 1st place at this years Annual Marlin and Tuna Tournament.

Deep Sea Fishing Adventure With Giant Marlin
Some Freemen headed out of St. Augustine, Florida on August 24, 2016 for some deep sea fishing. We expected to get some Mahi for sure but had a HUGE surprise when a 400+ pound marlin got on the line. The pro's told us that's a once in a lifetime fish. Unfortunately, we had the wrong tackle for it and the big one got away, but got some great footage of the Marlin and a bunch of other fish we got in the boat. Thanks to Clay and Alex of J Hook Fishing charters for a great day!
Mahi Fishing In Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
***Full report available at
This November my wife Lauren and I are staying in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where I will be working and fishing for mahi mahi and whatever else I can find. In this video we are fishing on a local panga boat, in the Los Arcos area of Banderas Bay, Puerto Vallarta, for mahi mahi (also called dorado or dolphinfish).
One major benefit of the internet is that it allows me to carryon my day-to-day business activities from anywhere in the world without issue. In fact I sometimes find it easier to work abroad than at home, and my productivity will oftentimes increase. For the next couple of weeks I will be blogging from Mexico, where it is currently 80 degrees, sunny and flat calm.

Puerto Vallarta fishing report September 2010
Puerto Vallarta fishing report
We left the Marina Vallarta in Puerto vallarta mexico a little after 6 and started fishing at thre Bank about 9 am lots of boats but no bait and no bite heard on the radio lots of captains were having the same problem so We decided to troll lures. About an hour of trolling at the bank and there was a big splash behind the boat a nice blue Marlin not hooked just leaping behind the boat it seriously almost jumped aboard it had to be running from something this thing was going nuts one of the craziest things I've ever seen while fishing in Puerto Vallarta I wish I had it on film.
The bite was very slow at the Bank nothing like the day before and
still no bait so we decided to go back to Corbetena and maybe
pick something up on the way, about ½ hr later we had our first
bite a small mahi mahi, about 20 minutes after that a We reeled in
a nice Sailfish and released, 30 minutes after the Sailfish We
reached Corbetena lots of bait we caught 4 baits finally and started
trolling, about 4:30PM in afternoon we got a big bite a giant tuna to
finish off the day. See the best Puerto Vallarta fishing Charters at
