Kettle Valley Railway Othello Tunnels Bike Ride Hope BC
This video is a series of short clips and stills of our bike ride on the decommissioned Kettle Valley Railway bed, that was turned into a park trail that is enjoyed by thousands of tourists and the locals every year. Absolutely stunning scenery, with the pristine coquihalla river below. The tunnels show the tenacity of the early pioneers to blast their way through the rock to make 5 tunnels for their steam trains and the railway that connected the interior of BC to the lower Fraser Valley. The tunnels are open for walk-thru from April-October. For more info contact the Hope Visitor Centre.

@PerfectWkdns Travel Report: Port Hope
Port Hope is a beautiful city on the north shore of Lake Ontario with a river that runs through it. This river divides the downtown and seems an apt metaphor for the two aspects of this historical gem of an easy vacation destination.
To some, Port Hope is a shoppers' paradise with all manner of fashion, food and home furnishing retailers. It is also home to many charming B&Bs, boutique hotels and the Capitol Theatre, which is one of Canada's last remaining atmospheric theatres and regularly hosts live theatre, films, concerts and live broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera. This town, a mere 90 kms east along highway 401 from Toronto, is an ideal place for a romantic couple's escape or great girl's getaway.
The other side of Port Hope appeals to the more active visitor, with golfing at popular courses like Port Hope Golf & Country and Ash Brook Golf Centre, cycling along the waterfront trail, and of course fishing on the internationally famous Ganaraska River. Jason and Joanne hit Port Hope just as the Steelhead were running in the early spring, but you'll find trout throughout the summer. Salmon are the big draw in the fall.
Learn to fish and enjoy a great day on the river with the same guides used by Jason & Joanne. John Morand has been fly fishing all his life on some of the best rivers around the world. His wife, Juliet, learned to the art from her father and shares John's love of the stream. Contact them at 905-885-1405 or pvplawyer@bell.net.
Discover the two best sides of Port Hope for yourself with an overnight and theatre package ( starting at only $249 per couple.

Algonquin Park - February 2018 Day Trip
Lynn and I made a late February day trip to Algonquin Park. We headed out with a forecast of freezing rain; changing to rain; all resulting in ice-covered trails, but a memorable day otherwise. We managed to hit up Two Rivers Trail, the Spruce Bog Boardwalk Trail and the Visitor Centre. Hope you enjoy.

Hangin in Fort Nelson, Canada! Day 12
Today was a pretty good day in Fort Nelson. We got some pretty decent sleep last night, then got up and put in a full day of work. It was pretty nice, not having to worry about getting on the road afterwards, we may be on to something here.
After work, we decided to do a little exploring. Our neighbors told us about the bike paths here, so we went off to ride some of them. Candace wanted a bell for her bike (bears), so we hit up a local bike shop and hit the trail – it was a pretty good little ride, about 10K.
After the ride, we hit up a little gym called Iron Alley – perfect for us, decent equipment, and a good workout.
This evening, we cooked some food and relaxed. May even get an episode of Game of Thrones in. Hoping to get to bed early and get some sleep.
All in all, Fort Nelson has been a pretty nice little stop. They’re well set up for travelers – great visitors center, two RV dump/water stations, a recreation center complete with pool, indoor track, and rock climbing wall, and some decent biking/hiking trails. They even have a nice little park with some water attractions for the kids!
