Excellent Hunting Property In Northeast South Carolina | Horry County South Carolina 64.97 Acres
Official website:
This low country property has all the right elements to attract and hold deer and turkey with its blend of thick cover to go with rolling terrain, a rarity in this part of the country. With most of the property being highlands, the western edge of the property drops down to a lowland swamp. This drop in elevation creates the ideal traveling ridge for deer as they make their way to and from this property and surrounding agricultural fields. Multiple open areas throughout the wooded parts of the property offer excellent stand sites for deer and ambush locations for turkeys. A beautiful grassy field can be found on the eastern side of the property that joins the neighboring farm. In addition to the natural features of the property, two sites have young pear trees that are already producing tempting fruit for deer. The property also features mature hardwoods and pines.

Know Your Zone Signs in Horry County
Description
Conway, South Carolina – The Horry County Emergency Management Department will enhance its Know Your Zone campaign initiative by adding evacuation zone signs throughout respective areas of the County.
The signs will be added to existing Horry County street signs in evacuation zone areas, located within unincorporated areas of Horry County.
The signs indicate evacuation zones A, B and C by color with red representing Zone A, the color yellow representing Zone B and the color orange representing Zone C. The indicators measure approximately 9 inches by 9 inches.
The multi-year project will involve distribution of the evacuation zone signs in phases. The first phase will focus on transition sections between evacuation zone areas.
Following Hurricane Matthew, Horry County residents requested clarification of evacuation zone areas. The fixed signage will indicate evacuation zone areas for citizens who reside and work in the respective sections.
Evacuation Zone A: All areas east of U.S. Business 17 (Kings Highway), up to U.S. 17 intersection and all areas east of U.S. 17 to the Northern county line.
Evacuation Zone B: All areas south of Highway 707 and Longwood Drive, including all areas in Longwood Plantation (Blackmoor) to the Waccamaw River and all areas between Highway 17 and Highway 17 Business.
Evacuation Zone C: All areas between Highway 701 and Highway 544, south of Browns Chapel Avenue and Highway 814, plus all areas east of Highway 31 (Carolina Bays Parkway) to Highway 90 and all areas east of Highway 90 to the county line.
Know Your Zone is a public education campaign to inform the citizens and visitors of Horry County of the hurricane evacuation zones and the vulnerability to storm surge.
The Know Your Zone campaign was developed as a result of the information contained in the South Carolina Hurricane Evacuation Study (HES) for the Northern Conglomerate that was released by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in 2012. The campaign also reflects the National Hurricane Center’s (NHC) decision to separate the association of storm surge inundation from the category of storm.
For information on evacuation, reentry, storm preparation and more, visit Horry County Emergency Management online at emd.horrycounty.org.

South Carolina Man Pleads Guilty to Forced Labor for Compelling Man with Intellectual Disability to Work at Restaurant The defendant used violence, threats, isolation, and intimidation to compel victim to work seven days a week without pay at restaurant Defendant Bobby Paul Edwards, 53, of Conway, South Carolina, pleaded guilty Monday in United States District Court for the District of South Carolina to one count of forced labor, admitting that he used violence, threats, isolation and intimidation to compel a man with an intellectual disability to work for over 100 hours a week without pay. MUGSHOT / Horry County Sheriff’s Office The announcement was made by Acting Assistant Attorney General John Gore of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division and United States Attorney Sherri A. Lydon of the District of South Carolina. According to court documents, between 2009 and 2014, Edwards managed a restaurant in Conway, South Carolina, where the victim, identified in court documents as “JCS,” had worked since he was 12 years old. Once Edwards began managing the restaurant in 2009, he increased JCS’s duties, requiring him to work more than 100 hours per week. The defendant stopped paying JCS and began using violence, threats, isolation, and intimidation to compel victim JCS’s continued service. According to court documents and Edward’s admissions, he subjected JCS to abusive language, racial epithets, threats, and acts of violence that included beating JCS with a belt, punching JCS with his fists, hitting JCS with pots and pans, and burning JCS’s bare neck with hot tongs, in order to compel JCS to work faster or to punish JCS for mistakes. The defendant compelled JCS to continue working under these conditions until October 2014, when authorities removed victim JCS from the premises after receiving complaints about the abuse. “Human trafficking through forced labor can happen on farms, in homes, and as today’s case shows – in public places, such as restaurants,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General John Gore. “Edwards abused an African-American man with intellectual disabilities by coercing him to work long hours in a restaurant without pay. Combatting human trafficking by forced labor is one of the highest priorities of this Justice Department and today’s guilty plea reflects our commitment to seeking justice on behalf of victims of human trafficking.” “This defendant abused a vulnerable victim, and today’s guilty plea holds the defendant responsible for his criminal acts,” said U.S. Attorney Sherri Lydon for the District of South Carolina. Edwards faces a maximum of 20 years in prison for forced labor, a $250,000 maximum fine, and mandatory restitution to the victim. A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled. According to the terms of the plea agreement, the defendant will also be required to pay restitution to victim JCS in an amount to be determined at the time of sentencing. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigat
