The Stables at Chantilly, France -- a Demonstration of Riding
This stable is arguably the most beautiful in the world. Look at this room! It has a tiny ring in the center, and beautiful and educational horse demonstrations are given here many days of the week for the lucky public who visit this historical place!
The Museum of the Horse in Chantilly, France has something for everyone, and there is a gorgeous racetrack right next door!
Chantilly can be reached from Paris, France by the SNCF train. You could also take a taxi here from CDG Roissy airport if you liked (it would be expensive, but it is not really a long trip, less than half an hour if there are no problems with traffice) and either stay for a night or two in Chantilly, or stay in the neighboring town, Senlis, which I like even better!
I can help you select a place to stay and even be your tour guide here. I live in Saint-Denis and have made France my home since 1994.
The Château de Chantilly houses the famous Musée de Condé, and the gardens are so lovely, they inspired Marie Antoinette to create Le Trianon! This is what she copied!
The Museum of the Horse is on the château property, and the gardens are adjacent.
You could do all this in one day if you started early, but it would be pretty exhausting! You would be better off to perhaps get to the Museum of Condé first thing in the morning when it opens, tour it and the château, and have lunch at the amazing restaurant right there. I did, in May, 2010, as a guest and Partner of ELAC PARIS 2010 (ICE). Hommage is made to the great chef Vatel, who fell on his sword in desperation for the fish delivery being late for a royal luncheon he was preparing! (The fish did arrive, about an hour later.)
After your excellent lunch, you can walk off your calories by strolling through the gardens. There is a tourist train which is a good idea to pay for and ride, as the grounds are huge. After the train tour, you can walk back to parts of the park which interested you most, such as Le Hameau or Les Grands Cascades.
The Museum of the Horse has many live rare horse breed specimens on display, and a fascinating museum, showing a lot of the carriages and saddlery used by the royals when they went for their daily hunts. Hundreds of people would go! There were hundreds of horses, and thousands of hounds!
Considering what you get, the prices are very reasonable. Check on the 'net in advance to see about group rates or discounts. The first Sunday of every month, it is all free! But get there early, cuz everyone goes and the place is packed by late morning, of course!
Note the elegant assiete of the equestriennes here. The lady speaking is riding and describing equitation at the same time.
Have you ever seen such a setting? This is deemed the most beautiful stable in all the world. It outdid even the famous lavish courts of Russia!

CHANTILLY (PART 2) A LIVING HORSE MUSEUM THE GREAT STABLES WERE BUILT IN 1719
The Great Stables were built in 1719, on the orders of Louis Henri, duke of Bourbon, Prince of Condé, who believed that he would be reincarnated as a horse. He asked the architect, Jean Aubert, to build stables that would be suitable to house a horse of his rank. The resulting 186 m long stables are considered a masterpiece of 18th century architecture. The stables could house 240 horses and up to five hundred hounds.
In 1830, Henri d'Orléans, duke of Aumale, the fourth son of King Louis-Philippe, inherited the château from his uncle, the Duc de Bourbon. In 1886, Henri bequeathed the château, the stables, the racecourse, and almost 8 km² of forest land to the Institut de France, with the stipulation that it should be preserved as it was.
Riding master Yves Bienaimé had begun his career in 1959, in the riding school housed in the stables. Twenty years later, he was struck by the state of neglect of the still-impressive building. He decided he would do what he could to bring back some of the former glory of the stables. On 6 June 1982, after four years of negotiations with the Institut over the concession, Yves and Annabel Bienaimé opened the museum to the public.
The museum has 31 rooms with exhibits comprising over 1,200 paintings, drawings, sculptures, and ceramics, covering equine topics like horsemanship, horse-drawn transport, art, history, equine health, and riding equipment. The museum is referred to as living because it houses 31 horses of various breeds. Part of the intent of the museum is to promote the education of the public by encouraging interaction with the animals. Three to five dressage demonstrations each day illustrate the basis of horsemanship, and a large equestrian show is presented at least once a month. The privately-run museum receives approximately 200,000 visitors each year; it receives no public subsidy or funding from the Institut de France. The current director of the museum is Sophie Bienaimé, daughter of the founder.

The majority of journalists around the world have chosen to develop their subject on controversial and sensational themes: violence, war, crime. But all these facts represent only 1% of our world and its inhabitants, forgetting the remaining 99% of which we never speak.
I chose to visit every country on the planet and film them to present them in High Definition format but in a raw way, without music, without comment. Simply, reality in all its truth. Thus, you will be able to make your own idea of the world in which you live.
Currently, I have already visited nearly 170 countries and my world tour continues thanks to you who follow me.

2015 Highlights: Longines Global Champions Tour of Chantilly
Round 10, and the leadership board was shaken up after Gregory Wathelet (BEL) claimed a stunning victory in Chantilly in another incredible Grand Prix. The level of competition in the Grand Prix was phenomenal and only a few rider and horse combinations were able to pull off double clears, with just three riders going through to an electrifying jump off.
The dancing dynamo of Morocco's Abdelkebir Ouaddar and his charismatic stallion Quickly de Kreisker rode to a popular second place, and French favourite Pénélope Leprevost took third place, and her second podium of the year, with her bay stallion Vagabond de la Pomme.
