Ireland Adventure in Counties Cork and Kerry - Part 2
The travelling companions arrive at their second hotel base, and continue their tour with visits to the town of Kenmare and it’s bronze-age stone circle; an all-day tour of the ‘Ring of Kerry’ peninsula, the village of Sneem and then the town of Killarney. Here they enjoy the ever-popular rides on the Jaunting Cars (Horse and trap rides) around beautiful Killarney National Park. Finally, as the weather improves, they circle the splendid Dingle Peninsula and - on their final evening - are entertained at the INEC centre to a theatre show of traditional Irish singing and dancing
This second video (15min) is Part 2 of 2.

Freddie the Dog retires
Freddie the Dog has been working hard, running her bookshop in Kenmare, Co. Kerry, but now she wants to retire. Help Freddie retire!
Her bookshop is a lovely period commercial property for sale at €245,000. Presently Noel & Holland Books, it is a secondhand bookshop with one-bedroom apartment above. Floor space of shop approx. 600 sq. feet. In the centre of beautiful Kenmare.
Front area of the shop has a large window looking on to Bridge Street, shelving along both walls, spot lighting and storage heating.
Back area has a vaulted pine ceiling, shelving on three walls, stone wall at far end, spot lighting and storage heating.
The garden is approx. 40 feet long - ideal for an extension.
In the apartment, the living area is open plan - sitting room, dining area and kitchen. The apartment has unusually high ceilings, giving a great feeling of space. Storage heating. The ensuite has a Mira electric shower.
There are no parking restrictions on Bridge Street which is quiet in terms of traffic as it is a cul-de-sac.
Kenmare is a haven of tranquillity, gourmet food, superb accommodation and breathtaking scenery in one of the most natural, unspoilt environments in Europe. Cradled in the heart of Kenmare Bay, the picturesque town of Kenmare is the perfect location from which to discover the South West of Ireland, linking the internationally famous Ring of Kerry with the rugged Ring of Beara.
Founded in 1670, though many generations have passed since then, the unique charm and inherent beauty of the town remains unchanged. The Tourist Board, Bórd Fáilte, officially recognised the historical, cultural and environmental significance of Kenmare by bestowing upon it the title of Kerry's first Heritage Town.
The Ring of Kerry, known all over the world, follows the coastline of the Iveragh peninsula. It is one of the most dramatic scenic drives in the country and makes a most exciting day tour. Along the 175km route are picturesque villages, an abundance of historical landmarks, sandy coves and beaches.
To the north of Kenmare is the Killarney National Park, 10,000 hectares of woodland and magical mountains, with spectacular views of the lakes of Killarney.
The unspoiled Ring of Beara lies to the south of Kenmare. Its rugged beauty is beyond compare, traffic is minimal and it abounds with archeological sites and spectacular views.
Whether it is walking on the mountains, cruising on the bay, horse riding, golfing, fishing, touring or soaking up the best of music you will not be disappointed in Kenmare

The Kerry Way, Ireland Hiking on the Old Kenmare Road to Lord Brandon's Cottage
Most hikers begin the Kerry Way in Killarney and hike the loop from West to East. Steve and I would officially begin our SELF-GUIDED walk tomorrow, going from East to West but today joined two other women who were beginning their Ireland Walk, Hike, Bike in Southwest Ireland Kerry Way GUIDED by John.
It was a fairly easy 3:45 walk on a grey.drizzly day from an area near Torc Waterfall, through ancient Oak forests, until we reached Lord Brandon's Cottage. From there, boats leave at 2:00p promptly for a boat ride on the lake to Ross Castle.
It was freezing on the lake and wasn't long before the two Aussies and us were sitting on the bottom of the rocking boat, buried under a tarp while waves sloshed over everyone; not fun at all.
Steve and I were picked up by a taxi and driven to Rockville B&B in Sneem which is where our self-guided portion of the Kerry Way would officially begin tomorrow.

Garinish Island - Co. Cork
A little hidden gem in Glengarriff County Cork. The Garinish Island (also known as Garnish or Ilnacullin) is just a short ferry ride from the town, a enjoyable trip passing a seal colony along the way.

The island is stunning, particularly the Italian gardens and the various viewpoints around, including a martello tower offering amazing panoramic views. It fells more like a mediterranean island than somewhere just off the coast of Ireland!
This really is a unique and amazing location and a visit is highly recommended. The house is open for tours from March to October.
