EGYPT: Luxor city, carriage ride
Luxor is a city in Upper (southern) Egypt and the capital of Luxor Governorate, with an area of approximately 417 square kilometres (161 sq mi). It was the ancient city of Thebes, the great capital during the New Kingdom, and the glorious city of Amun, later to become the god Amun-Ra.
Luxor has frequently been characterized as the world's greatest open-air museum, as the ruins of the temple complexes at Karnak and Luxor stand within the modern city. Immediately opposite, across the River Nile, lie the monuments, temples and tombs of the west bank Necropolis, which includes the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens. Tourists from all around the world visit these monuments, contributing greatly to the economy of the modern city.
Luxor has a hot desert climate like the rest of Egypt. Aswan and Luxor have the hottest summer days of any other city in Egypt. The desert city is one of the driest ones in the world, and rainfall does not occur every year. The climate is extremely clear, bright and sunny year-round, in all seasons.
The economy of Luxor, like that of many other Egyptian cities, is heavily dependent upon tourism. Large numbers of people also work in agriculture, particularly sugarcane,There are also many industries, such as the pottery industry used in eating and many other uses. To make up for shortfalls of income, many cultivate their own food.

Horseback Riding in Cairo Egypt!! // Equestrian Vacation in Egypt
This video is part 1 of a 3-part series documenting our riding adventures in Egypt 2019.
Part 1 takes place in Cairo, part 2 moves up the Nile to Luxor, and in part 3 we go east to the Red Sea.
In Cairo, we spent 3 days playing with our horses in the desert and soaking up the incredible history of the area.
The people who helped us with this trip were amazing (Stacy Farney!) and we will link them below - including the Cairo Horse Riding School run by Tamer Owayan. He rescues all of his horses, including Eshta, Butterfly, and Cairo who we rode and loved. His GoFundMe is a wonderful place to donate if you love horses and care about their well-being worldwide.

Horseback ride through city in Egypt after seeing The Temple of Horus at Edfu
Be patient with video. It takes a minute or so to get to the town center. Please see discussion about Egypt because the vacation experience is very unique. There was one area where the best accessibility for a large tour group was via horseback ride. This is the ride from The Temple of Horus at Edfu to our riverboat which was basically a mini cruise ship similar to the ones people take in Europe but not as nice. There is a lot of interesting things to see in this video but it takes a minute to get to the city part of the video. I took a LOT of videos in Egypt and going through them is daunting to say the least.

❤️Aubrey was a Speech-Language Pathologist, Donnie was graphic designer, but we both had a dream to travel the world and experience cultures. After three years of being married and dreaming about if something like this great adventure would be possible, we decided to quit the rat race and take on the world. We sold everything we had, quit our jobs, and took off! We don't know how long we will get to do this, and we do have a goal of getting jobs in the UK eventually, but we are going to live it to the fullest while we can!
