Blue Mountains Walks: Horseshoe Falls Blackheath

Horseshoe Falls mark the point where Pope's Glen Creek falls into the valley below. This walk took me about 90 minutes, beginning and ending at Govett's Leap Lookout.
It is in 5 stages - Pope's Glen track down to the waterfall, Pulpit Rock track to Cripp's Lookout and return, Pope's Glen track to Boyd's Beach, an unsignposted track up the hill to the Fairfax Heritage track, which is then followed left to the car park at Govett's Leap Lookout.

Blue Mountains Walks: Pope's Glen Blackheath NSW Australia - a great round walk
PLEASE SUBSCRIBE!
This is a delightful walk along the valley of Pope's Glen Creek at Blackheath, which tumbles over the cliff into the Grose Valley as Horseshoe Falls.
The upper part of the walk is near houses and the local Bushcare group has done a lot of good work in removing non-native plants from the reserve and re-establishing native species which were being excluded.
The walk begins at Govett's Leap lookout and concludes at the Memorial Park. I walked back to get my car alongside the road, which is quite a pleasant way to go, as there is a concrete footpath all the way to the National Park boundary. You could continue along the Fairfax Heritage Track from here and so remain on a good surface all the way back to your car.

BLUE MOUNTAINS WALKS & WATERFALLS | Hiking from Govetts Leap to Bridal Veil Falls & Pulpit Rock | 4K
On this episode, we head 2 hours West of Sydney into the Blue Mountains National Park.
On Day 1, we walked from Govetts Leap lookout to Pulpit Rock, which is an 8 km return, relatively easy hike. We witnessed a beautiful rainbow from one of the lookouts on the Horseshoe falls.
Once back to our campsite, we prepared dinner in our Jeep kitchen (walk around video to come!).
On Day 2, we hiked down from Govetts Leap lookout to the base of Bridal Veil Falls (Rodriguez Pass hike).
The descent is steep but the panoramic views across the immense Grose Valley, surrounded by huge, vertical sandstone cliffs are crazy impressive.
Bridal Veil Falls is certainly not a very wide waterfall, but it’s the height (180 metres) and the amazing scenery that makes it such a beautiful place!

Blue Mountains Walks: Pope's Glen-Fairfax Track Round Walk Blackheath NSW Australia - a great walk
PLEASE SUBSCRIBE!
This interesting and varied walk takes in a series of lookouts, a delightful creek and some beautiful bushland with loads of wildflowers.
Commencing at Govett's Leap Lookout at Blackheath, the track follows the cliff line as it descends to the top of Horseshoe Falls. It then goes upstream alongside Pope's Glen Creek as far as Boyd's Beach, one of several sandy pools where children can enjoy paddling.
From here, an old fire break goes uphill until it crosses the Fairfax Heritage Track, which is then followed back to your starting point. Along the way, spend a little time at George Phillips Lookout with superb views over the Grose Valley.
The entire walk takes 1-2 hours. The most difficult section is on the initial descent, as the track is not in good condition.

Blue Mountains Walks: Waterfall Circuit South Lawson NSW Australia

This walk was just right for me both in length and order of difficulty. I hope you get to enjoy it too.
The walk takes in a series of waterfalls on three different creeks, along a circuit which you can easily cover in less than 2 hours.
The tracks and signage are in good order and the Blue Mountains City Council is to be congratulated for this. The reserve is not part of the Blue Mountains National Park, nor are many of the lesser known scenic gems in the mountains.

The approach is via Honour Avenue on the southern side of Lawson and their are parking areas at both ends of the track. Children will enjoy the pools and sandy areas in summer.

Looking down over the waterfalls after heavy rain. During shooting you can see rain falling and the power of the falling water is moving the lower vegetation.

Blue Mountains Walks: The Waterfall Track Mt Wilson NSW Australia
PLEASE SUBSCRIBE!
The basalt cap of Mt Wilson has weathered to produce a rich soil on which subtropical rainforest thrives. Much of the area has been converted to European style gardens but significant areas remain undisturbed on the flanks of the mountain.
This walk descends from a picnic area to a series of small waterfalls in the rainforest before ascending by another route. Highly recommended.

Blue Mountains Walks: The Pulpit Rock Track, Blackheath NSW Australia - fantastic views
PLEASE SUBSCRIBE!
This another classic cliff top walk in the Blue Mountains. Leaving Govett's Leap Lookout, the track descends to Pope's Glen Creek and Horseshoe Falls and then follows the cliff top around to the Pulpit Rock Lookouts. The return is by the same route (alternatively, you can follow the road back into Blackheath but you will still be a long way from where you started at Govett's Leap Lookout). The round trip takes 3-4 hours - less if you are in a hurry.
The track is in reasonable condition in most places but poor in others, especially as you approach the creek.
Naturally, there is an abundance of great views, including Horseshoe Falls which most people never see because they are hidden from view around the main lookout at the car park.
