Horyuji Temple （法隆寺） is located in Ikaruga town of Nara Prefecture. This place can be easily reached by a bus from the JR Nara Station.
Horyuji Temple was established in the early eight century by Prince Shotoku Taishi, who was one of the first Japanese Royal family member to officially embrace Buddhism. Under Prince Shotoku Buddhism flourished in Japan and he also built many Buddhist monuments and Temples.
If you visit Nara and plan to spend more than a day, make sure you visit this magnificent Temple.

法起寺（ほうきじ、ほっきじ）は、奈良県生駒郡斑鳩町岡本にある聖徳宗の寺院。古くは岡本寺、池後寺（いけじりでら）とも呼ばれた。
山号は「岡本山」（ただし、奈良時代以前創建の寺院にはもともと山号はなく、後世付したものである）。本尊は十一面観音。聖徳太子建立七大寺の一つに数えられることもあるが、寺の完成は太子が没して数十年後のことである。「法隆寺地域の仏教建造物」の一部として世界遺産に登録されている。・・・Wikipedia
藤原宮跡の撮影後、奈良斑鳩の法起寺を訪れました。三重塔とコスモス畑が有名ですが、残念ながらコスモス畑はあまり咲いていませんでした。時々参拝客が訪れていましたが、静かな秋の大和路の雰囲気を満喫した一日でした。

Horyuji is a Japanese temple complex and its 5 story pagoda is the oldest wooden building in the world! One of many UNESCO world heritage sites in Japan and a great display of ancient Japanese architecture.
travelling in Japan is amazing, and here we travel to the oldest temple, which has the oldest wooden building in the world.
Horyuji is located in Nara prefecture here:
Here you can see not just a temple, but and entire complex of buildings, roads, temples, houses, etc as they were 1000 years ago, and the main 5 story pagoda is over 1000 years old! and it is made of wood!
On our way we found a fun surprise, a Honda NSX Type R in perfect condition in the parking lot, so we check that out too!

Chuguji Temple （中宮寺） is a small but beautiful temple located a few minutes walk from the famous Horyuji Temple. This temple was used as a nunnery but it was most famous for the Miroku Bosatsu (Bodhisattva) wooden statue. Unlike some of the worship halls, this statues was open for viewing and it was a real treat to visit this temple and see this statue. Hope you get a chance to visit this temple too.

Japanese traditional shinto ceremony, FUTONDAIKO at Hōryū-ji Temple as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Nara.
In 1993, Hōryū-ji was inscribed together with Hokki-ji as a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the name Buddhist Monuments in the Hōryū-ji Area.
This is annual autumn festival at the Hōryū-ji Temple and Tatsuta shrine.
The object called the FUTONDAIKO, to drive away wild animals and evil spirits, are integral to festivals in West Japan.
People carry the FUTONDAIKO temporary shrine on there's shoulder and then people shake the very heavy FUTONDAIKO ceremony.

Horin-ji Temple was constructed in the year 622 at a location close to the World Heritage site of Horyu-ji Temple. Its original three-story pagoda, which had been commended and had been one of the three pagodas alongside those of Horyu-ji and Hokki-ji Temples that were collectively called the Three Pagodas of Ikaruga, had burned down but was rebuilt in 1975. A beautiful landscape has been created to adorn the Ikaruga area.

There is Horyu-ji Temple on foot from JR Yamato route Horyuji Station to 20 minutes.
There is the cafe which opens at 8:00 before I go to Horyu-ji Temple, and, other than the menu of the photograph, there is the rice porridge.

Horyu-ji Temple is a temple in Ikaruga-cho, Ikoma-gun, Nara. It is the head temple of a Buddhist sect of the Imperial virtue sect. Alias including Ikaruga temple .
Horyu-ji Temple is founded in the seventh century and is Buddhism facilities conveying the figure of the ancient temple at the present and is the temple of the Prince Shotoku connection. The foundation is considered to be (607 years) from an inner temple The Buddha of Healing image nimbus signature, a shrine Imperial virtue Pope emperor theory for Suiko 15 years. I am separated by inner temple, Saiin Buddhist monastery around Five Storeyed Pagoda and east House Buddhist monastery led by dream. Area of the precincts is approximately 187,000 square meters, and Saiin Buddhist monastery is a group of existing world's oldest wooden buildings.
The building group of Horyu-ji Temple was registered with a world heritage (cultural heritage) of the UNESCO as a Buddhism building of the Horyu-ji Temple area with Hokki-ji Temple in 1993. As well as a building, I have a Buddha statue of Asuka, the Nara era, a large number of cultural assets including the Buddhism industrial art object.

It was not permitted to see it until it was opened by E.F.Fenollosa in 1884 after being transferred to the Yume-dono in 739.
